Was it bad that Bella was excited for her date? Was it bad that she didn't feel bad for Piper? Was it bad that her friendship was about to be ruined and she didn't give a shit?

Probably.

But she didn't care.

She was in her room getting ready when her phone rang.

Piper.

Speak of the devil.

Bella immediately mentally slapped herself for thinking such cruel words. Piper was in love with Jave. Jave was in love with Bella. Bella was...she wasn't sure, but she might be in love with Jave.

"Hello?" She answered, fixing her hair.

"I'm sorry I need some comfort. Can I come over?"

"Uhmm..."

"Okay good, cuz I'm already here! Yes, I was that glad to see you. Go ahead and gloat all you want."

Shit.

The doorbell rang.

Shit.

The door opened and she heard footsteps.

SHIT!!!

Bella desperately shoved her makeup into her drawer and tried to look busy.

As if on cue, Piper walked in, makeup smeared beneath her eyes, clad in drab, baggy clothing and a tissue box in her hand.

Piper immediately stopped when she saw Bella.

"You look dressed to impress. What's the occasion?" She asked, a suspicious glint in her eye.

"I-I um," Bella fumbled for an excuse. "My dad's coming back today and mom's treating us to this dinner thing at a fancy restaurant."

Piper nodded, seeming to buy the lie, but the suspicion in her face hadn't yet disappeared.

She pouted, "So no comfort today?"

"You can stay here. Just make sure you don't eat all the ice cream," Bella laughed. "Okay, Imma go get ready be back in a sec,"

"Yeah I'll just wait here."

.oOo.

Bella was taking so damn looong! Piper had been sitting there for at least ten minutes, and her friend still hadn't come out of the bathroom.

She was about to leave when suddenly, Bella's phone chimed, and Piper stopped.

She recalled Bella's suspiciousness, and it probably had to do with a boy. If Bella were dating someone and hadn't told her...she'd be in for it.

Piper eagerly looked at the screen for the text message.

Jave Jandle:

K we're meeting at that Greek place again, right? Hopefully they have better food this time lmao

Piper gaped.

Wait. What?!

She unlocked Bella's phone (a perk of being the best friend) and scrolled through the text messages.

Bella was going on a date.

With the love of Piper's life.

That little hypocrite bitch!!!

Almost blinded by anger, Piper typed in a response, easily mirroring Bella's texting style.

Actually I'm sorry for the huge change of plans, but can we meet at the arcade instead? It reminds me of our first date.

Jave Jandle:

Ya of course thatd be awesome

Piper smiled to herself and poured water from a water bottle over the phone. Then, she staged it like it was an accident and wailed.

Bella came charging out of the bathroom looking worried.

"What's wrong?" She asked, her voice stricken.

"Oh my gosh I don't know what happened but I think I knocked your water bottle down and it just spilled all over your phone! Oh gosh does it still work I'm so sorry so so so sorry I really hope you didn't need that oh gosh I'm so sorry!" She yelped, fake tears streaming down her face.

"I-it's fine I can always get a new one, calm down,"

"Really?" She looked up, her eyes fake hopeful.

"Yeah,"

"Anyway, I'm still really sorry."

"It's fine! So I've got to go, I'll see you tomorrow, or when I get home. You'll probably just be asleep."

"Yeah,"

.oOo.

Bella waited. She had gotten to the Greek place two minutes early.

Two minutes later, he hadn't shown up.

Bella started to get antsy. What if something was wrong? She wanted to check her phone, but it was damaged.

The clocked ticked on, yet she waited.

It was then thirty minutes that she waited.

Then it was 50 minutes.

Then it was 2 hours.

No matter what his excuse was, she would never forgive him.

Yet she waited still.

She wanted so badly to see his face, feel his hand around hers, hear his deep voice.

Finally, three hours had passed and a waiter respectfully asked her to leave.

Bella nodded and stood up to leave, blinking a huge hot lump forming in her throat.

No. She mustn't cry. It was just a boy.

But when she got into the car, she couldn't help but let all her tears out, her hatred for Jave, her hatred for herself and her guilt for Piper.

She'd been stood up.
