FLASHBACK

Caroline patted down her puffy white dress which Peggy choose for her. Caroline never really had a fond idea of preparations for celebrations or parties. She looked at herself in the mirror with the white and pureness of the dress. Peggy was holding back tears at how beautiful Caroline looked almost angelic like.

"How do I look?" Caroline asked giving a twirl around with Peggy almost about to burst.

"You have to leave some tears for the ceremony, Peggy."

"I know but.... I thought this day would never come." Peggy wiped her tears. "You know why."

Caroline always knew why she never wanted to settle down. Because she promised herself that she would wait for Steve, no matter how long it takes. But the guy she was suppose to meet at the altar was nice, he was no Captain America but he had his qualities. He was gentlemen like and cared genuinely about Caroline's feelings unlike other men.

"Peggy, can you give me a couple of minutes?"

"Sure darling, I'll be right outside if you need anything."

Once Peggy left, Caroline searched her belongings and found Steve's dog tag which she took everywhere. Every date gone wrong, every time she went to the movies, every minute of every day. She kissed it slightly with the hope that any day or even today Steve would appear.

She looked at everything around and picked up her veil to laid it onto of her head. Caroline fixated it to be more centered but she knew something was wrong. But couldn't exactly put her finger on it. Looking in the mirror, she looked like a puffy snowball, like the ones she used to make when she had snowballs fights with Steve. He would've loved to see her in a white dress, he would've said that she didn't look like s snowball because Peggy wouldn't allow it.

Imagining herself walking down the aisle with one person at the end, the person who she should've had a life with instead of Dave. She had to get out. Get out of the dress, get out of the marriage, get out of everything because this wasn't Caroline. It was the silly image that she could forget about Steve but she couldn't, no matter how hard she tried.

"I have to get out," Caroline whispered to herself, tugging at her wedding dress to come off.

"I have to get out," Caroline repeated tears starting to come out as she continued to tug at her dress, which wouldn't come off. The repetition of the words, which only got louder each time made Peggy come in to the startled bride.
