"Why have you gotten so weird ever since I changed or Cassandra came?"
"What do you mean?"
"Everyone is always talking about how big of a jerk you become... and I barely see you any more... and you... um stopped eating."
It then goes silent as if he disappeared. My eyes were heavy but, I knew I couldn't fall asleep.
"I didn't notice but, I didn't stop eating... I just stopped drinking from you. I go to the city like Ashlen and the others do." He then says.
"Oh..." I pull the blankets tighter around me. "You've been distant from me." I sighed. "Even though I did think you were going to kill me eventually... I do miss hanging out with you." He doesn't respond and sleep eventually took over me. I woke up with my head on his chest, using it as a pillow. I looked up at him, his eyes were shut and his face was calm.
I sat up and groaned. My shoulder was throbbing. I gripped my arm pulling my knees to my chest. Everything else hurt but, nothing compared to my shoulder. I felt a gentle hand brush against my back. "Tiffany... What's wrong?" He says quickly sitting up.
"My shoulder..." I groan.
"Hold on..." He whispers. He then runs out of the room at his supernatural speed. He comes back minutes later witch felt like forever. I fell to my side of the bed curling up into a ball. He comes back with a mug and a small round saucer. He helps me sit up again. He hands me the mug filled with hot coca and hands me two small black pills.
"What are these?"
"Pain pills but, they are made by the fairies... they are safe to take." I nodded taking the pills with the hot coca. Left on the saucer were two chocolate chip cookies. I ate those too. They were good, defiantly homemade, and they reminded me of my mother. I could all ready feel the pain in my shoulder loosing.
He carefully wraps an arm around my waist surprising me and pulls me onto his lap. He gently set his chin on my head. I could feel my face flush red. I didn't even think he would spend the night with me. He is acting weird. "I'm sorry for wandering off last night..."
"Don't apologize." He says taking his hand away from my waist. "You're not a prisoner here... Ashlen, Cassandra, and I went to find the thing that attacked you. It was a hell hound."
"Hell hound?"
He nods. "Cassandra says someone is tracking you... it's a good thing you killed it so it can't report back with your sent."
I set the empty mug on the night stand. "I-I thought it was going to kill me." I say shakily.
"I'm not going let anything hurt you again." I cringe at those words. He said that before except about himself. I stood up and faced him. His eyes look sad turning to a dull silver. His left hand turned into a hard fist.
I looked at the hardwood floor. "I-I'm going to take a shower and... talk to Cassandra." I say quickly scampering to the closet taking the first outfit I found and went to the bathroom. I took off my bandage on my shoulder to see how bad it was.
The cuts were already scabbing over except surrounding it was a nasty purple yellowish bruises. I had no idea how it healed that fast, a question for Cassandra. I threw the bandage out and got in the shower. The hot water felt nice over my sore body. Washing my hair was a problem when I kept rising my hurt shoulder. Brushing it out was even more frustrating and painful.
I eventually gave up and just left. Alec was no longer in my room. I knocked Cassandra's door and there was no answer. I let out deep breath and went to the other place she is usually at, the library. She wasn't there but, the stares and whispers from others did not go unnoticed. Ashlen came from the door in the back of the library that led to Alec's office and the training room.
