Hey!

From here onwards, the story will be in the PAST unless, of course, if I mention 'present'.

WAQAS' POV

Torture. Plain torture.

The more I tried to divert my mind, the harder it became to pass time in this stupid economy class seat. Never in my life, I am going to travel in these. I flicked to another movie on my screen and dug deeper in to my seat. I needed to lie down. Here I was trying to at least sit properly and this madam on my right was sleeping ever so peacefully.

I looked over my shoulder, scowling at the figure but then sighed. She had a faint smile her lips. My hand raised involuntarily as my fingers brushed against her soft skin, pushing away the loose strands of hair. She stirred in her sleep before leaning closer to hold my arm. My muscles stiffened at her touch as I tried to pull away but, in vein.

Bare aram se so rahi hai...

I pressed the call button and an air hostess appeared beside me with in a few seconds. I asked her for water and patiently waited for her to return.

"Thanks," I mumbled as I accepted the glass. She nodded and walked away.

"Roop?" I nudged her once more but she didn't wake up. Dipping my fingers in the cold water, I sprinkled some on her face and immediately looked ahead of me. She stirred again but, fell back to sleep. I huffed, taking more water than last time and splashed it on her face.

"Kaun hai?!" She sat up straight, startled, and yanked her hand, slapping me across my face.

"Ow!" I howled, holding my jaw and she gasped, covering her mouth.

Karma, it is Waqas.

"Oh my God! I am so sorry Waqas!" She panicked, holding my chin, "zor Se lagi? I am sorry."

"Nahi it's ok," I forced a smile and she sighed. If only she knew I kinda deserved it.

Suddenly she pulled the handle between our chair and I raised an eyebrow. Ab Kya godh main sir rakhe gi?

"You must be feeling uncomfortable. I have enough space so make yourself comfortable," she smiled and rested her head near the window this time.

I hate to admit but I needed this extra space.

I pulled out a pair of black headphones and played Iron Man 3 on the mini screen in front of me. I have watched it a million times but, there were not many good options here. Suddenly something moved in the corner of my eye and I turned my attention to Roop. She winced, resting her head on the seat's headrest again. A few seconds passed when it jerked forward again but this time, she didn't wake up.

I felt bad about waking her up earlier.

"Roop?" I called her name again and like always, she didn't wake up. Ghodhe, ghade, haathi, oonth- sab bech kar soti hai yeh.

Ughh.

I held her head softly and pushed it back again, making it rest on the headrest but, that lasted for five seconds only as her head fell forward again. I pinched her shoulder, picking up her dress' material and pulled her towards me. Raising my left hand, I rested it on her right cheek and pulled her head down on my shoulder. She is your wife Waqas, easy! I reminded myself to ease the awkwardness but that was only until she hugged my arm tightly and pulled me closer.
