The Haunted Jail House: Part 4

Mai:

After getting out of the hospital the group decided that I shouldn'the go anywhere alone until this case is solved so I was forced to stay with Naru. At first I was a little nervous, but when we drove to his house I was amazed to see the view. It was beautiful. When Naru showed me to my room we were attacked by the Spirit again. Which leads to now.

Going through what happened earlier today I couldn't get any sleep. "Why does this always happen to me....?" I whisper. 'And to make it worse it a spirit that wants to kill me and I don't even know who it is.' As I thought that I decided to take a walk.

When I found, what I think, is the door that leads to the garden I saw earlier I opened it to find some kind of staircase going down. At first I just wanted to close the door and pretend that I never saw it, but my curiosity got the best of me and I went down the staircase. At the end was some kind of old fashioned, broken down door. I touched the carving that was fading in the center of the door and it opened.

I walk into darkness then I heard some kind of voice. "Hello is anyone there? Naru, this isn't funny!" Suddenly something touched my shoulder. I turned around and came face to face with the spirit once again. "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I scream as loud as I could then I felt arms grab my arms and legs. 'No I don't want to die.' Suddenly.... "Mai!" I heard a familiar voice and as soon as that happened the hands that grabbed me started pulling me through the ground. "Mai!!!!!!!!" The last thing I saw before going completely through the floor was Naru chasing after me. And then I lost conscious.

Naru:

"MAI!!!!!" I chase after her but it was too late I turn to the spirit and started to build my P.K. to the max. "There is no need for that. I'm not going to kill her right away. I will give you 72 hours starting tomorrow when you arrive. But if you don't come then you should've said goodbye."

"Damnit." As I processed what just happened many questions came to mind. 'Obviously its taken her to the mansion, that used to be a jail house for criminals serving life in prison or worse. But why give us a 72 hour grace period? Why is it going after Mai? If it's power that it wants, then why not me or one of the others? Does Mai have some secret that she hasn't told us? If so, then why keep it a secret? If not, then why?' out of all the questions the only clue to them is Mai. 'Why are you all I think about? Mai is someone special to me, yes but..... why? What is about Mai that makes me want her so?' These questions go around in my head until a single resolve comes to mind.

I run back up the staircase and make some phone calls the last one was to the person Mai trusts the most. "Takigawa!" "What is it Naru? Don't you now 11:00 at night?" I tell him what happened and the first thing that pops out of his mouth..... "Naru you were suppose to protect her not make a deal with the ghost! What is wrong with you! I'll be there in 1 hour" and with that he hung up. I grumble for a while then started to get ready for all the noise that will come rushing here.

When everyone came in, the first thing that came was...."Naru I heared you incorrectly right? ...the part where Mai was kidnapped by a ghost and you made a deal with it. Cause if it is true.... what were you think you Narcissistic Jerk!? I don't know what you were thinking by making that deal!" Ayako said in a bi-polar rage. "If I didn't take the deal the spirit would have killed Mai by now. So, what do you think is better, the deal or immediate death for Mai?" Ayako tisked at my unpleasant yet true statment. "So, what's the plan Naru?" Monk asked.  "Simply go back get Mai and exercise the spirit. What else?" Naru stated more than answered. Everyone nodded to each other and the rest is up to the spirit actually keeping this deal.
