MAI:

Having our secret known by everyone, I start to feel like I did something wrong. I have my head down. My ears still ringing from everyone yelling. Aine has fainted from a headache. Naru told everyone to leave before he got angry. Not wanting to see that everyone left except John and Aine, who were allowed to stay. "I'm sorry about what just happened. I didn't mean to scream like that. I'm so happy for you though." John said bowing while holding Aine's head in his lap. "The only reason why your still here is because Aine is your lover, and we trust her." Naru said angrily. "........." Aine shifts in her sleep and hugs Johns waist making him blush.

I watch silently as John slowly accepts the position he's in. "Mai? Are you okay?" Naru said walking over to me. "......." I'm silent when Naru picks me up. "N-Naru! What are you.....!?" I look at him confused. He just sits down where I was and places me in his lap. "He-he...." John looks away flushed. Lynn silently laughs covering his mouth with his left hand. I'm just sitting there wondering whats gotten into Naru. "I thought I was allowed to do this." Naru said teasing. "That was before....!?" "Before everyone knew about our relationship." Naru said looking at my Shock-ridden face.

"........Mm..." "!" Aine kissed John in her sleep. John jumped back surprised. Eventually she opens her eyes telling that she was awake. "You were awake!!?" John said. "I just woke up." said Aine drowsily. "That was just a wake up kiss." "Well, it's still pretty embarrassing." "Well, we've done worse in public." Aine sits up and leans on Johns shoulder still half asleep. "Yeah, but,......" "We're in front of our friends?" "Y-yeah." "It's should be okay. After all, Since they already know about us we don't have to hold back." "I-I-I g-guess." "I know it'll take a little getting used to, but just because your nervous doesn't mean we can't express our love. I love you my Knight in shining armor."

I watch silently as they talk as if we weren't here. After that last comment, Aine winked in my direction saying that I should take her advice. I 'You clever fox' I think to myself as I smile and nod. She turns to John. They stand, say their goodbyes, and leave with just me, Naru, and Lynn. Lynn walks into his office, seeming to leave us alone.

Naru and I are left alone in his office. "Did you know this room is sound proof?" I look up at him, only to meet his lips to mine. "......Naru!.....Don't!......." I say in between kisses. Naru looks me straight in the eyes and says "Mai, you should know by now that I'm the boss and I get what I want." He and I kiss each other. The longer we kiss the deeper it goes. *RING* Just as we were getting in the mood the phone rings. Naru sighs in disappointment. 'That was close.'

He answers the phone with his usual emotionless tone. "Shibuya Psychic Research. What's the situation?.................Alright. We'll be there at noon tomorrow......Bye." He hangs up. "We gotta case?" "What do you think?" "I think someone is about to lose their Tea privileges if he keeps up his attitude." "Alright. You win." "Works every time!" I smile Victorious.

THE NEXT DAY: MONK:

We were informed by Mai about a new case. Everyone except Masako, who is crying her eyes out over the loss of Naru in her life, Is going to be there. We were all informed to just head straight to the site of our case instead of just meeting up at the office. Ayako and I are on our way there.

"Ayako..... I think you went a little too far yesterday." "What do you mean?" "I mean..... Mai and Naru are dating. That is a shock but you could at least have saved her the ear piercing screams." "You know I view Mai as my own child. I just wanted to know what she's up to. Besides, I also wanted to scope out everyone to see if anyone knew about their little secret." "Yeah. I feel the same. But, I still think you should've talked it over with Mai first before Just announcing it to everyone. It made those who knew Feel awkward. Aine fainted for goodness sake!" "Okay, okay. Now I feel bad. I'll apologize when we get there." *SILENCE* "You know.......Your pretty wise for an old Monk." "And your just getting this now?" *SLAP* "That's the last time I complement you." "Owww"

AT THE CASE SITE: JOHN:

"Wow...." I heard Aine say at the huge castle-like mansion in front of us. "Wow, indeed. I've never seen a mansion like this. What a amazing place." Ayako said walking past us. Everyone was walking to the front door, when Aine and Mai collapsed at the same time.  "Aine!!!!!" "Mai!!!!!!" Everyone shouted. The two lean on each other, and slowly fell to the ground, back to back. Naru and I caught them before they fell to their sides.

Inside the mansion, we set them both down on a set of twin beds with Velvet sheets and wine red blankets. "They didn't wast much time passing out." said Yasu teasingly. Naru gave him a leave or die glare. Everyone left except me and him. Lynn was unpacking the van when they collapsed so he just stayed behind to take care of that. "You two are just impossible." I heard Naru whisper.

I looked down at Aine. she was sweating. "Naru Aine's sweating. What's goin' on?" Naru looks over at her with a look of curiosity. "......It looks as if her Pyrokinesis is starting to show itself." "If I remember correctly, she said those who couldn't control the flame will be killed by it, right?" Naru nods and turns back to Mai. "By the way she's looking, I'd say she's on the final test." "What do you mean?" "I'm saying that she's being mentally tested. In order to maintain psychic abilities you have to have to be strong both physically and mentally. Not to mention that you have to be aware if your powers are going to grow in time or they are just going to burst out without warning. My guess is that she passed the physical and awareness. All that's left is her mental capability." "You sure are being kind by telling me this. Is something wrong Naru?" "It's not for you. Mai has a strong connection to her. I'm doing this because Mai would want to know what happened when she wakes up." " That's true."

AT BASE: LYNN:

I just got finished setting up base when the noise came rushing in. "Man Yasu, why'd you have to go and say that? I wanted to help take care of Mai." Said Monk slumping on the sofa. "Man, Naru can be really scary when it comes to it." Ayako said sitting opposite from him on a couch. "Sorry. If I'd known he'd react that way I wouldn't have said anything." "I'm guessing he's still mad about yesterday." "Well, now's the time for you to apologize Ayako." "Fine." Ayako leaves without another word. "Hey Lynn! Are the cameras set up yet?" "......No..." "Man, you really don't talk much do you?" "........" I ignore him and go back to typing on my computer.

BACK AT THE BEDROOM: AYAKO:

I walk in and see John wiping sweat from Aine's forehead. Naru is lying in the bed with Mai asleep. "I didn't think Naru had it in him." John jerked his head around surprised by my voice. "Ayako! When did you get here?" "Just now. I wanted to apologize about yesterday, but it seems I'm a bit late." "He was worried about Mai so he entered her head with her." "Naru's got some guts. What happened to Aine though? She doesn't look too good." "Yeah, from what Naru told me, it's her powers testing her." "What does that mean?" John explains to me what Naru told him and my face went white. "You're telling me if she doesn't pass this test she'll die!?" "Yeah....."

I lower my head in frustration. "But I believe in her...." I look up when John states that. He lays his head down on the bed as if to tell Aine that. After about five min. I hear soft breathing coming from him. I carefully put him in the bed with Aine. Aine seemed to have calmed down a bit. "You guys still young, and yet, your so in love." I decided to stay and help John out. I pull out a handkerchief and a bottle of water from my purse. I carefully soak it, fold it, and place it on top of her head.

After while the others came in, making sure I wasn't dead, and I explained the situation. "Naru sure has guts." said Monk. I placed the now re-soaked handkerchief on Aine's head and look at Monk. "That's what I said. Anyway, I'm a little worried about Aine. Her and Mai have gotten so close." "Yeah they're almost like sisters." "Yeah! Mai has a new sister! And one that doesn't treat her like dirt!" "Shh! Quiet Yasu! You don't want to wake up Naru do you?" He shakes his head as he remembers what happened earlier.
