Without knowledge I threw my arms over my head to protect myself as the crows swooped down on me, one literally penetrated my skin, with terror I grabbed the bird from the inside of my arm, pulling it out and slamming it onto the floor as I stepped on it, the blood splattered and organs slipped out of the body of the crow.
I placed my arms into the position as if I was using a sling shot and out of nowhere, water appeared in between my third and fourth finger, my lips blew the water into ice and I shot all the five birds hovering over me. They all dropped dead onto the floor as the icicles stuck out of their bodies.
My heart kept pounding fast, as the birds kept popping out of nowhere, I felt frustrated with everything. I kept throwing icicles at the black, scary, and weird crows. I ran deeper into the woods to see a shadow.
“Really?!” I cried out upset.
The shadow backed away and I threw water at it from my bare hands, “Go away!”
It shot electricity at me with its finger, as I kept shooting water at it.
“Don’t hurt me.” The voice said emotionless.
I glared at the shadow, “What are you?”
“Calm down, I’m seventeen. I’m trying to get this whole killing your kind thing down.” The voice told me slowly.
I turned my direction around and started stomping somewhere else, “Don’t come after me then!”
“EXCUSE ME! I won’t, but you do know I can tell the future, right?” The voice told me.
I shrugged, “No big deal, girl or boy?”
“Girl.”
“Okay, please go away.” I sternly told the shadow.
“My name’s Baylee.” The voice said again, trailing along right by my side.
I nodded and then faced the shadow, “Can you shift shapes?”
The next thing I know I have a flying squirrel on my shoulder, “Name’s Baylee Madison Gonzales, girl, seventeen!”
“You’re creepy, do you know that?” I asked Baylee.
She nodded in her form, “I do.”
“Where’s your family?” I asked her.
“Once you turn thirteen in shadow life, you’re on your own. I never got the whole killing the waters and fires thing down.” She replied.
I gave her a glare and continued walking, “Fires and Waters?”
