So Close yet So Far

Chapter 10

Dom's P.O.V

Classes still continued, except that there were repairs being done all over the school because of the incident yesterday.

After school ended I went to the nearby forest and shifted. I put some of my clothes in my school bag and I put that bag somewhere nearby before I shifted so I took my bag in between my teeth and ran. I ran to the place where I saw Tara yesterday.

Before I emerged in the clearing I put my bag under a root of a tree and marked it with my scent so I wouldn't forget where I left it. I emerged in the clearing after a few minutes and I saw Tara crying. Her knees were tucked into her chest and her head was down. I could hear her sobbing quietly.

I went to her and nuzzled my snout on her arm slightly while I was whimpering. I and my wolf didn't like seeing my mate sad. She looked up and saw me; her eyes were red and puffy and she had tear stains on her cheek and her clothes were a little wet from her tears.

When she saw me she immediately hugged me. I felt sparks, when she hugged, sending them running through my entire body.

She was still crying making my fur a little wet but I didn't care I wanted to comfort my mate. I put my right front paw up and put it on her back trying to comfort her. She stopped crying after a few minutes. I looked at her and tilted my head like I was asking a question.

"Oh, I'm sorry but it's because of two classmates but I'm okay now" she said while wiping her tears away. The tone of her voice was a mixture of anger and sadness. The truth was her face was kind of cute when she was angry. While she was talking I didn't listen but I just sat there and kept staring at her beautiful face.

"Thank you for keeping me company but I got to go, goodbye now" she said while standing up, and she left. After she left I walked to where my bag was located and took the extra clothes I brought with me and shifted back into a human and put them on.

I walked around the border of the pack and at the edge of the forest there was a clearing where neutral land is.

I caught a whiff of a familiar scent. But I was not able to distinct where the scent is located. The wind kept blowing in the other direction so it was hard tracking where the scent came from after about an hour or so I found where the scent came from. Still very close to the borders

And what I saw made my blood boil. I growled and then I shifted.

They heard me but I didn't care.

I charged at him.
