So Close yet So Far

Chapter 5

Tara's P.O.V

*Before the explosion*

My lunch schedule is much earlier than the other students. And that I only had four classmates and that I learned that my power is not limited to only steel but also the earth since I was the earth elemental.

The boy I bumped into when I entered the classroom, yeah his name was Dean. He was the air elemental.

We were heading back to the classroom and I noticed Dean stealing glances at me but I ignored it.

"You know that my brother and Dean like you since it's kind of obvious" Ashley whispered in my ear.

Ashley was the elemental of peace and harmony while her twin brother is death and destruction. Her brother's name was Ashton. The other elemental is the elemental of water and he has ocean blue eyes and black messy hair. His name was Gavin. Ashley and Ashton both had black hair but their eyes were different from each other. 

When we were in the classroom we waited for the teacher but he/she never came. So I took my phone and earphones in my pocket and plugged the earphones in my phone and put them in my ears. I picked a song and took a novel book out of my bag and started to read it. I loved this song and it was perfect for the book I'm reading the song was "Not About Angels- Birdy". Ashton and Dean were talking to each other but I didn't listen to what they were talking to. I noticed that out of the corner of my eye that Dean was clenching and unclenching his hands and that Ashley was standing at the middle of them saying something.

The air around the room picked up and the door in the classroom had cracks all over it and looked like it was about to break down. I put my book down and watched the scene unfold. I still had my earphones on so I didn't hear what they were talking about so I took them off. And apparently the boys were fighting over me. I felt like I didn't have a choice over this and it made me angry.

I stood up from where I was sitting but they didn't notice me. I was opening and closing my hands and I could feel the ground shaking a little. They didn't stop arguing until the door to the classroom collapsed and the wind blew really loud which sounded like an explosion. The ground shook more furiously than before. Gavin was under his seat as some of the ceiling tiles came down on his table.

I almost fainted when the ground stopped shaking. I noticed that Dean and Ashton weren't in the room anymore and I saw Ashley standing beside me. I gave her a questioning look.

"I dragged them both outside, and they might be arguing about you"

"What if their using their powers and the other students saw it?"

And with that me, Ashley, and Gavin went out of the classroom and went to where the boys were. When we got there I saw a huge crowd of students were around the clearing.
