The group had been travelling for a few hours, now, and night had already fallen.
Katelyn was observing their map carefully, occasionally tracing the path the ship was following. Aaron was leaning against the pillar that held up the mast silently. Laurance was was looking over into the depth of the navy sea. Aphmau was steering it, often nodding at Katelyn's directions. Arabella was sitting across from Katelyn, idly turning her battle-axe in her hands.
Aphmau sighed. "It's pretty late, you guys. You should head to sleep, while I steer the ship."
Laurance shook his head. "I'll stay up here with you, then."
"Why don't we just do it in shifts?" suggested Arabella. "Like, I could take the first watch, and when I'm feeling sleepy, someone else could take the watch, and so on until it's morning. We'll all get sufficient sleep."
"That sounds like a better plan," commented Aphmau.
Katelyn shrugged. "I'm fine with anything, as long as this damn map gets us somewhere!"
Aaron remained silent.
"Well," said Aphmau, "if that's what we're going to do, I'll take the first watch. Laurance, can you take the second shift after two hours?" He nodded. "Great. In that case, you all should really get some rest," she said.
The rest of them went downstairs to their own sleeping quarters. As Arabella was walking down, a shoulder tapped her, and she turned around.
"Hey," said Laurance. "Are you sure you're fine?"
"This is the third time you've asked me that in the last two hours." Arabella rolled her eyes.
"Sorry," he remarked sarcastically, and then grinned. "If anything happens, I'm in the room right next to you."
"Don't worry," smirked Arabella, eyeing her battle-axe. "Nothing's going to happen to me, this time."
As Laurance left to his own room, Arabella entered hers and collapsed on the bed, clutching her weapon, completely prepared for what was going to happen. She closed her eyes.
Within a few minutes, she fell asleep.

Arabella was right. The Shadow Lord forced her back into the exact same dreamworld, but this time, Arabella willed her battle-axe to appear with her. Sure enough, it was in her hands when she found herself in the dreamworld.
"Good call, Arabella," she muttered to herself. Gripping the weapon tightly, she ventured out into the never-ending field under the cover of darkness. So far, nothing strange happened.
Arabella remained quiet. She didn't want to provoke anything in this realm. She knew that the Shadow Lord knew she was here, therefore, those demonic versions of her friends were here as well.
"What good will a weapon do against emotional scars?" asked a very familiar voice. Multiple pairs of footsteps shuffled behind Arabella, and she turned around to meet with Demon Aphmau, her black eyes as soulless as ever.
Arabella laughed coldly. "Do you want to test me?"
"You are already being tested." Demon Aphmau tilted her head. "All of this is only for the Shadow Lord to see your mental strength."
"But if you want to start off with a fight..." Demon Laurance appeared behind her. A ruby-coloured sword shimmered into existence in his hand. It was the exact one that he had in his Shadow Knight form.
"Have at it." Arabella lunged at this figment of her imagination wholeheartedly, knowing that none of them were real, and they weren't her actual friends getting hurt.
