-January 15th, Friday Evening-

"What the hell is taking her so long?" I asked myself as i sat on one of the benches outside in front of the school waiting for Mai, who just so happened was just taking her sweet ol' damn time to get there.

"She said to meet her here an hour ago! ugh!" I yelled agitated, kicking at the ground. I sighed and leaned back, looking up at the sky thinking back at when she told me where to meet her...I did hear her correctly though...right?

-Flashback, Thursday after school-

"Hey! (Y/N)!" Mai yelled and waved happily at me as i was about to walk out the school entrance, I looked back at her and turned to face her, slinging my backpack over my shoulder more to keep it from falling.

"Yea?" I asked, a bit confused since she haven't spoken to me since that Monday night. She caught up to me, stopped in front of me and panted from the short run, but after a mere five seconds she looked up at me with the biggest smile,

"I just talked to Naru, he said he will give you an interview tomorrow at 6:00 pm, so meet me at 5:00 pm outside of the school so i can take you there" Mai said, smiling up at me, I couldn't help but smile back, I mean, she could be loud but, she was a nice girl all an all. I patted her head,

"Thanks Mai, I'll see you tomorrow then" I pulled away and left out of the door, planning out what could happen tomorrow and how i would handle the interview.

-Flashback ended-

It was officially 6:15 pm now, I was late, there was no way I could make a good impression now! I would of left on my own but Mai did not give me the address. I slumped my head in depression, as if i had my own personal rain cloud above me, I was just about to get up until I heard a woman crying. I looked up just as a woman fell face first onto the cement, quickly rushing over to her i helped her up,

"Ma'am?! Ma'am are you ok?! what's wrong?" I asked concerned at the shivering girl, she whimpered,

"I...I..." she took a breath "I..I was just coming back from work and...and IT attacked me!" she yelled sobbing again, I looked at her confused,

"Ma'am what attacked you? where? do you know who?" She shook her head a lot and replied,

"no no no no you don't understand! it, it isn't a person! it..it was a thing with red eyes! and claws!" my eyes widened a bit, a demon perhaps? I've never heard of a ghost with red eyes, claws and attacking people. I stepped back a bit,

"Where did it attack you? what else do you remember?" I asked, trying to get as much information as I could. She tried taking deep breaths to calm herself then replied,

"Out in the woods, near Shosheka town, I took...I took a back way through it cause it was a short cut, and, and I heard a kid yelling for help so i ran out to help them but, i couldn't find them and just ended up on an unrecognizable path and was by a vacant house...before i knew what was happening, IT attacked me, I somehow got away and ran, i ran until i finally found a way out, and i kept running and i ended up here..." I looked away off to the distance, Shosheka town??? That's like four miles away! she ran the whole way?? I shook my head to gain my composure then helped her to the bench i was just at and sat her down,

"Ma'am, listen, you are ok here, just sit tight and calm down, get something to drink and just relax, I will take care of this, don't call the police, they wont believe you" I said as calmly as i could as to not spook her more, she gulped and nodded, not saying anything. I walked away and hopped onto my bike, taking off toward the direction of Shosheka Town.

Why was I heading off toward a fucking demons place? I had no idea...I was not in control of my body, I guess it was because i couldn't just sit back and let this...this thing hurt anyone else, i mean, luring people into the forest? as a child in fear no less? that's sick, i just couldn't let it continue. Maybe, Maybe i could talk to it, try to convince it to move on or to leave, i was a great persuader so maybe, just maybe, i could get rid of it. If convincing it wouldn't help, I did have an ace in my sleeve as a backup, something i normally wouldn't use because it took a great deal of effort and will power to commence it. I remember using it at a young age and shivered at the thought, shaking my head i skidded to a stop and parked my back near a wall, chaining it near a pole and looked at the dark looming forest. I grabbed the straps of my backpack tightly and took a deep breath, then with a slight hesitation at first, i ventured off into the unknown. After a few moments of roaming around I heard a child crying, and with no time to think, i headed over to that direction, sprinting. Eventually, i ended up at the house the other woman spoke of earlier, the house was a rather large logged cabin, with broken windows, thick fog surrounding the foundation, dead vines crawling up the sides imprisoning it like snakes to their pray and dead grass in its perimeter, and although it looked creepy as hell...I didn't sense anything, it just felt...empty. Before i could even ask myself why it felt the way it did, i heard a woman scream, and as if clockwork, i sprinted off into the building with no time to think. I rushed through the unhinged door and followed the screams, the sounds leading me upstairs, down the hall and bursting through the end door to the left, the only thoughts running through my mind was that she could possibly be getting ripped to shreds,

"DON'T!!!-" I stopped in my tracks as i saw a woman about 23 years old with long red hair and wearing a priestess outfit cowering and gripping her head, she yelled again and pointed at a busted window with a thick cobweb in it, occupied by a decent sized spider,

"Kill it!!! KYAAAAAA!! kill it!! spider! DAMN IT ALL!" she screamed flailing now, I just stood there, a sweat drop the size of my head fell as I just couldn't comprehend the situation.

"you....it.....wha.....screaming......spider?...." I slowly said until i finally got a hold of myself, rage boiling in my blood, and yelled back at her,

"YOUR TELLING ME YOU ARE SCREAMING CAUSE OF THIS LITTLE THING!? I THOUGHT YOU WERE GETTING RIPPED TO SHREDS! GAHHHH WHAT THE HELL WOMAN!?" at the last word i just swatted the spider out the window instead of killing it, a little more forcefully than i meant to though. She turned and looked at me and just at said moment another man ran into the room, he had long light brown hair in a low ponytail and was wearing a casual outfit of a grey long sleeve and blue jeans.

"Ayako?!" He stopped in his tracks as well a little confused,

"Monk! About time! I could of been killed! What took you so long!?" She yelled steaming mad, he sighed,

"I was roaming the place to see what we were dealing with, and you are not dead so it all worked out, right?" he said now giving a slight smile which made...Ayako?...swat him in the face with a makeshift paper fan. I just stood there, dumbfounded bout who these people were, why were they here, and why I couldn't sense anything when there should of been something here. The man looked at me,

"oh, hello there? Who are you?" he asked, i rubbed my head,

"My name is (Y/N)" i said, answering his question, he nodded and responded,

"Nice to meet you,my name is Houshou Takigawa, but you can call me Monk, that there is Ayako Matsuzaki" I gave a very slight wave,

"Um...I have a question..." I said, they gave me a confused look, and with that, I yelled,

"WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE!?"
