~February 14th, 2 o'clock PM~

It has been nearly a month since I started as a trainee at SPR, otherwise known as Shibuya Psychic  Research, a place that researches the paranormal and investigates the unknown. Kazuya, otherwise known as Naru, Also known as My Boss, has given me nothing but the cold shoulder lately, probably reconsidering my abilities. The others were rather nice and...entertaining to say the least, but Mai was by far my favorite, even if she was extremely naive a lot of the times. It was not just Mai, Naru, Lin, Monk, Ayako and myself, but apparently a famous medium known as Masako Hara, who was currently sitting silently on the couch across from me, was also part of the group. At first I thought she would be a hoax, like a lot of other supposed mediums were, but she seemed to be the real deal, able to see spirits much like I could. From my understanding, of what I was told, she could channel spirits as well, unlike myself. I sighed to myself as I sat in the front room of the office for SPR, bored out of my mind and agitated as all hell due to the day; valentines day. Valentines day was one of the most annoying days I have ever grown to know, seeing nothing but couples here, couples there, lovey doveyness all around, it sickened me some to be honest. I have only fallen in love twice in my life time, well, once technically, the other not really considered a loving embrace, causing me to be a bit of a grump. Any-who, I was bored, so bored, there has not been very many cases lately and I was just itching to get back out there, I guess I just really wanted to show what I could do and get some respect from Naru and Lin, unfortunately that was a rather slow process.

Stretching out on the couch I began to pout in-spite of myself, covering my eyes with my right forearm I sighed,

"Naaarrruuuuuuuuu when will we go on another caseeee!?" I wined out, causing an agitated 'tch' from Lin across the room. Naru didn't bother looking up as he continued reading one of his paranormal books,

"You're a psychic, why don't you tell me?" He replied nonchalantly, knowing damn well I didn't have that ability and just wanted to piss me off. I scowl and move my arm to the side to glare at him, I was just about to protest until Mai practically threw herself into the room, tripping as she did and face planting on the floor. I jolted up into a sitting position, startled, and just look at Mai; Naru, Lin and Masako however did not bother to look in her direction. Mai slowly pushes herself up, rubbing her head groaning,

"Owwww...." She whined, at this point I decided to leave my spot and help her up,

"Jeez, that was an entrance, are you alright?" I asked her, helping her to the couch, Masako continued looking at the ground, eyes closed, almost statuette,

"Maybe if she was not such a klutz she would be able to walk correctly and not harm herself so much" She scoffed, earning a glare from Mai as she sat down, I had a sweatdrop he size of my head as i realized these two were about to get into a cat fight, Mai yells at Masako,

"Hey! It is not my fault I fall a lot! You could at least be a bit more considerate!" I sighed and sat next to Mai, placing my hand on her shoulder trying to calm her down,

"Mai, calm down, fighting won't help anything. Why did you come crashing threw anyway? what is so important?" I asked, curiously. She suddenly froze, then with no warning she shot up from the couch,

"Oh right! I totally forgot!-" she turns to Naru, "John just called and told me he has a case for us! He said we need to meet him St. Genises Apostle Church in an hour!" I twitch and think to myself, 'Great, a church, wonderful' then run my right hand threw my (H/L) (H/C). Naru, finally tearing his eyes from his book, glances towards Mai,

"And exactly why should I waste my time at a location that Ii was given no information about to even consider taking the case?" He asked, his face as stoic as ever. Mai pouts,

"Because John is our friend and if it is important to him then we should at least show him we are there to help him. Besides, he sounded very serious, I am certain this could be an important case." She says drastically, trying the best she could to convince Naru, for the supposed Johns sake. After what seemed like careful consideration on Narus part he set his book down, closing it in the process, then placing his hands together he looked at the three of us.

"Friendship has nothing to do with how cases can or cannot turn out, that does not determine if I should take it or not. However, Mai, you have never steered us wrong with your empathy and choices, so, we will check out the church, but if it is not worth my time, I will not take it, is that understood?" He asked, looking about our faces, from what I could tell, I nod, Kind of enthused to be distracted from the day with this possible case. Mai gleams excitedly and nods frantically, Masako looks up, towards Mai almost,

"If Naru is working it, I have no choice but to offer my help..." Masako seems to be blushing a light tint of pink as she speaks. I narrow my eyes at Masako then lean back against the couch,

"This should be a fun day." I sigh.
