Ayako and Monk gasped in unison, indicating that they too heard the growl echoing downstairs. We stood absolutely still, waiting as if we thought we would be found out if we moved or even breathed, that was until the walls and building felt as if it was shaking uncontrollably. All at once, a blood curdling roar echoed off the walls, sending blasts of hot, sweaty air throughout the building, without any hesitance the roar became louder and rough footsteps started stomping, no, running, up the stairs toward us. I have dealt with many spirits before, but none have I felt so terrified of, so, absolutely fearful of, than that one right then, right now, that was running up those stairs. No, it wasn't a spirit, although it felt like one, that thing was nothing, but a demon. My body froze and I had no control over any of my thoughts, all I could think of was what I would see when it reached the top, time felt as if it slowed to a stop, anxiety slowly kicking in while my breathing escalated and my palms became clammy. It wasn't until monk suddenly started chanting some sort of language I wasn't familiar with followed by him slamming a weird golden like object into the ground by the door, causing a sudden light cover the entrance, that I came to. Ayako  ran in front of me and within seconds she too started chanting a language I wasn't familiar with, followed by certain hand movements, causing the entity to be blown backwards into the wall. I couldn't get a good look at it, in fact he was shot back faster than I could even blink, but that didn't matter, what mattered was getting the hell out of there.

"Ayako! grab (y/n) and get out of here! Ill cover you two!" Monk yelled as he started chanting some more, ayako nodded then grabbed my arm,

"Come on!" she yanked me in the direction of the door and took off running, me close behind her. At this point multiple lights shot out from the walls, Ayako and I dodged and ducked as best we could until we finally reached the door, shoved it open and practically leaped out into the fog covered yard. I panted and gasped for air, trying to regain my composure until suddenly a loud crash was heard and I was forcefully slammed into the ground by a large force, come to find out Monk was knocked out the window and landed right onto me, god that hurt. I groaned, slowly getting up as I rubbed my head, Monk next to me groaning as well. Ayako went to Monks side,

"What the hell happened, Monk?!" she yelled, grabbing his arm helping him into a sitting position, monk wiped at his mouth where a trickle of blood dripped down, he looked at Ayako,

"I got caught off guard and was knocked out the window by that thing, let me tell you, that is no spirit of that ax murderer told in the legend, it was much more powerful, I do not know if we can handle this alone, we might need to call in for back up" Monk replied. I looked over at Monk,

"Who the hell would be able to take that thing on?!" I yelled irritated more than ever now, they looked at me slightly confused, I narrow my eyes at them,

"That thing is unnatural! It...it does not feel like a demon but a regular spirit but yet it had the power to knock your ass out that damn window, I have never felt anything like this and I highly doubt it has been encountered before, so, tell me, WHO exactly can get rid of it?" I growled out at them, they looked at each other then at him, Monk suddenly spoke up,

"You...felt it? are you saying you are a medium?" I stood there dumb shocked at how calm he was and how random the question was,

"N..No, Ii'm a psychic, I can not only see and feel spirits and such, I am able to communicate to them as well, most anyway, I also have clairvoyance and empathy-" I bit my tongue and shook my head to stop myself from speaking of this topic that was so irrelevant for our LIVES. "what does that have to do with anything?! What we need to do is either A, circle this entire area in salt then BURN this BITCH to the GROUND! B, find the remains or some sort of tailesmen or whatever it is that thing is attached to here and burn that with holy oil and salt or C, use some sort of exorcism that is powerful enough to get rid of it" I said, folding my arms against my chest, Monk looked at Ayako then at me again then stood up dusting himself off,

"well, do you know how to perform any of these things?" Monk asked me as he eyed me over making me very uncomfortable, i sweat dropped and replied,

"W-well...no...aside from the salt circle and burning the house down, its a type of purification so my best bet would be that" Ayako spoke up,

"I say lets do it, this is much too dangerous for even us, plus we have a novice here to take care of and if we just leave it more innocent people will be killed, I can purify the spirits here with my blessings but not this" I twitched when she uttered the word 'Novice' but bit my tongue to not cause another scene, also because I did not want to draw more attention to us. Monk nodded,

"Alright, I will head back to get the salt and matches,  Ayako you stay here with (Y/N) and preform your ritual to purify the spirits dwelling in this forest, I will be right back" Ayako scoffed and placed her hand on her right hip in a sassy like way,

"Oh please you just don't want to be near the demon, quit trying to feed us that crap" Monk sighed and looked at her,

"Its more dangerous to wonder out into the forest and you can preform the ritual and be done with it by the time I get back" Ayako took a step back then did a 'hmph' sound and looked away,

"fine fine, be off with you Monk" she said while making a shooing motion with her hand.

~TIME SKIP: Ayako is done preforming her ritual purifying the spirits, Monk is back and they have just lit the house on fire, the orange red flames danced around letting off a warming glow onto them~

I let out a sigh as I started calming down, slowly enjoying the warmth of the fire, I glanced over at the two strange people I have only met moments ago, after a few minutes of eternity and awkwardness I finally spoke up,

"S-so, Are you two just...like...ghost buster like people?" I dumbfoundedly asked not really thinking over my question, Ayako and Monk shared a looked at each other then started snickering which turned into a full blown laughter, I blushed embarrassed and stomped my foot down,

"What?!" I yelled at them, not ceasing their giggles, Monk started catching his breath and in between chuckles he answered me,

"N-nothing, its just, we kind of are but we are not at the same time, we actually work as spiritualists for a company, we help people and take on cases like these"

I cocked my head to the side,

"What company?" and with out missing a beat, a low voice answered right behind me just as another rather large figured walked up behind Ayako and Monk,

"Mine"
