'So, this man before me is the golden boy known as John, this is going to be interesting' I thought as i tried gathering my thoughts. The small child groaned in her unconscious state causing me to snap back to reality, John looked wearily at Father Donovan;
"Oi have no clue, we were just talking and suddenly the poor thing started shaking then screamed. Her eyes were glowing red and when I realized it was a possession she, or 'it'', tried attacking me, that was when I started throwing holy water on her and exercising her." He looked down at the child in my arms and moved her hair gently out of her face, causing her to slowly open her green eyes and lazily look up at us.
"W...what happened?" She asked, her voice soft and raspy, breaking my heart slightly. She continued,
"F...Father Donovan?" She asked, almost uncertain if any of this was real, Father Donovan crouched down toward the child;
"It's okay, my child. You are safe now" He spoke softly to her, hiding back his tears that his 'children' were enduring such travesty. Father Donovan lifted his eyes towards me, arms out,
"I'll take care of her from here, please, I beg of you all-" His voice cracked a bit, taking the child into his arms,
"I have tried everything, please, help us, help us vanquish this evil and restore peace and purity back to these grounds" His eyes showed sadness, and desperate pleads, reaching out to anyone, us, complete strangers only recommended by someone he truly trusted, to help in his time of need. I normally despise churches, religion, pastors, anything christian related due to most being so...horrible to many people...but this man, I couldn't bring myself to say no, after all, he was a mere human himself. I was scared, scared of what would await us, but, we need to help him. I start to stand up, a fire burning in me, my fear being replaced with bravery, looking at the man I give a triumphant smile,
"Don't worry, we will help, we'll restore this land to it's former glory and save your people, you can count on us!" I practically yelled, causing Mai to smile widely and throwing her fist into the air,
"That's the spirit!" She called out, John stepped in and placed his hand on my right shoulder,
"That's it mate! We can do this!" he smiled, causing my cheeks to burn. I quickly turn away from him and nod frantically, Mai turns to Naru,
"How about it, Naru?" She asked curiously. Naru paused for a few moments then nodded in response,
"I'll call Lin to bring the equipment. As for now, keep an eye on the children, they will be the focus of this investigation." He replied, turning away and, I'm assuming, walking back downstairs to the main floor. Father Donovan, standing now, smiled tearfully,
"Thank you all, God bless you!" he bowed, "If there is anything I can do to help, do not hesitate to let me know!" He said, turning away and taking the child downstairs. I sighed, then looked off into the distance, getting lost into thought I felt a hand on my shoulder again causing me to jump, looking toward the direction of the 'assailant' only to see John,
"Thank you for helping us, mate. I haven't formally introduced myself, I'm John, What is your name?" he asked, his accent practically making me melt,
"(Y-Y/N)" I, yet again, stuttered. John nodded then replied,
"I like your name, pleasure to meet you"
'Oh, no. The pleasure is all mine.' I thought, then shook my head, Mai walked up to us,
"Hey, (Y?N) since you are a psychic, do you sense anything here?"
I sweat dropped, this was a church, maybe a possessing one but still a church, spirits were everywhere-
'Wait-' I thought, striking an idea, an imaginary light bulb appearing on my head,
'I can just ask the spirits!' I screamed in my mind then hugged Mai,
"Mai! you are a genius!" I ran off, leaving a speechless John and Mai
"I...am?"
