[Cassandra's POV]
The next morning I stay in bed until the afternoon, relishing the fact that I didn't have to get up super early but for once, just relax a little.
I'm surprised when Micah doesn't come up to check on me, something that he seemed to do quite a lot lately. Sticking my ear phones in, I grab the latest book I'd been reading and encase myself into it.
Finally, I decide to make an appearance downstairs after an hour into reading and throw a hoody over my head, my SpongeBob Squarepants pyjama shorts poking from underneath the oversized hoody. As I head down the stairs, hands shoved deep in my pockets and hood up over my messy bun and my brows scrunch together when I hardly hear movement but sense everyone in one room.
"Guys?" I ask nervously as I walk into the dark room.
Suddenly, the lights flash on and balloons are shoved in my face as Caleb, Fae, Lilah, Jazz and Micah all shout surprise.
Micah walks to my shocked frame, a massive round double chocolate cake with lit candles on them.
"Happy birthday, Cassandra." He smiles.
"Wow you guys, I wasn't expecting this." I beam as I blink back in surprise.
I never thought they'd do anything but wish me a happy birthday.
"Well expect it, so blow those nineteen candles, girl." Jazz smiles.
I push my hood back along with a few stray strands of my hair as I blow the candle out. Chuckling when they all cheer, including baby Thea who giggles, Lilah claps her hands together in excitement.
"Presents time!" she winks, flicking her shiny black hair back.
Fae hands me a crème, leather covered photo album and Caleb hands me a box wrapped up neatly.
"It's a camera." He smiles.
Fae swats him and chastises him for telling me before I could open it.
"This is more than what I could ask for, thanks." I hug them both.
Delilah and Jazz were next and she shoves a wide flat box and when I open it, my eyes bulge at the amount of make-up inside; was she trying to say something? Jazz places a wad of money in an envelope in my hand and I raise my brows at the feel of the very thick envelop.
"I didn't want to get you something you didn't like." He shrugs helplessly.
"Thank you." I laugh, appreciating his truthfulness.
"Thea has something for you too." Delilah grins.
Delilah's daughter hands me a framed drawing, her attempt of drawing me with yellow hair and a triangle body and her mother's obvious help with the title.
'Best Omega Award' it read.
I hug the frame to my chest and kiss Thea's chubby cheeks.
"You're a star." I murmur to her and she responds by giving me a toothy grin.
"Can we start this delicious looking cake without you? Micah wants to show you his present." Jazz licks his lips as he stares lovingly at my cake.
"It's outside." Micah explains.
"Sure." I nod to Jazz and instantly, he and Caleb race to the cake.
"Greedy bastards." Micah shakes his head on a small chuckle before leading me outside.
I repeatedly fidget with my hands as I grow apprehensive.
"Stop looking so freaked out."
"I'm not-"
