"I'm Kellie by the way and you must be Cass, right?" The shapeshifter says once I sit beside her.
Clark and Phoebe didn't mind me sitting with her and said it was probably best as a newbie.
"Yeah, everyone seems to know my na-"
"Why hello, there!" A Lycan appears in front of me, throwing a chicken bone over his shoulder before leaning over with hands on the table.
"Um... hi?" I squeak, after winking suggestively at me.
"Leave her, Ben." Hunter growls and the Lycan huffs.
"She might like me." Ben pleads with his eyes to the Alpha.
Kellie stands on a low snarl and Ben backs away, hands up in surrender before a blonde Lycan grabs him by the neck and shoves him away.
"Was he harassing again?" The blonde Lycan shakes his head on a smirk.
"Isn't he always? Keep him on a leash or something, Tomen." Kellie tuts before sitting down.
Tomen throws me an apologetic smile before walking away with his friend.
"It is always like this?" I ask in bewilderment.
"Pretty much but I swear you'll get used to them; Ben and Tomen are really nice deep down." Kellie nods on a smile.
I blink a couple of times and let out a sigh, fork in hand as I look over the disorderly pack. Maybe if I stayed here it'd help me get used to Blood Moon as well; Blood Moon wasn't as sexually promiscuous and disorderly as Uncharted but experiencing the worst of them would help, right?
I find Micah sat with some Lycans, conversing animatedly with each other, the first time that I see him so relaxed and laid back.
Our eyes meet but I don't look away and neither does he; Micah nods once and raises his cup to me before breaking eye contact.
What was that supposed to mean? Was he still mad?
"Hey, are you gonna finish that?" I flinch when Hunter's voice breaks through my thoughts and his tattooed arm reaches out for my plate.
"No, I'm not hungry anymore." I shake my head.
I watch as the Alpha piles my food on top of his and my eyes widen; how can he eat so much?
"If you were human you'd be clinically obese." Kellie shakes her head at him and grimaces.
"You'd still love me." He grins through a mouthful of food.
She turns his face away with her hand and pretends to gag, making me laugh in the process.
"Does that pack have a Beta?" I ask to take my attention away from the sickly mountain of food.
"Pierce is around somewhere, probably whispering lovey dovey shit down his mate's ear." Hunter answers before his own mate could answer.
I wondered how Hunter and Kellie met; the Lycan and shapeshifter.
"You're just jealous he's more romantic than you." Kellie taunts, her green eyes sparkling in mischief.
Hunter growls and shovels more food into his mouth, muttering something incoherent.
...
Clark wakes me up early in the morning telling me that Micah wanted to meet me in the clearing in ten minutes.
"Tell him I'm too tired right now." I grumble, covering my head with the sheets.
What did he want from me? Micah hadn't even glanced at me ever since that time he rose his cup to me and that was three days ago.
"He was insistent and also advised you to wear sports gear." Clark drags my covers from me, making me flinch from the cold and curl up in a ball.
I groan in frustration and reluctantly roll out of bed; I'd spent most of yesterday with Kellie and the Beta's mate Summer who was many of very few female Lycans.
After splashing me face with cold water to get rid of any remaining sleepiness and getting into a pair of joggers and a black tank, I head out and welcome the almost silent territory.
Lycans loved sleep.
I see Micah in the distance and quicken my pace to catch up with him.
"What's all this about?" I look up at him in question.
"You've forgotten? I promised to teach you how to fight." He raises his brows.
My smile slowly spread across my face and I nod slowly; everything between us was okay.
Nothing between Micah and I had changed.
"Of course, let's go." I shove at him before setting off in a sprint.
...
[Dmitri's POV]
A whole year had passed and the Blood Moon Alpha still hadn't found his mate. There was only so long until his self control would evaporate and he'd rip out the throat of anyone who'd mention her name.
She couldn't have just disappeared into thin air, not even leaving a sliver of a scent.
Dmitri's wolf had become restless beyond repair which made his temper all the more worse. He'd go on long lone wolf runs and purposefully seek out rogues to kill in the slowest, painful way possible; a moment of sedation for his anger and loss as the beast inside him would lap up every scent of death Dmitri caused.
A knock on his office door disturbs his thoughts on which pack to advance to next as he stares at the map of territories before him.
"What?" he snarls as the door opens.
His Beta walks in, eyes narrowed on the map in front of Dmitri before looking up at him.
"Tell me you've come in here because you've found her." Dmitri stands.
The Beta had just come back from a meeting with WoodCreak Pack and it was all Dmitri could think about whilst Logan was gone.
"No, but there is still the Uncharted Pack to look into." Logan replies.
Dmitri growls and snatched his keys from the table before grabbing his leather jacket from a hook on the door and swinging it on.
"Bring seven more with you, this might end in bloodshed." He grumbles as Logan follows him down the stairs.
As much as he detested Lycans, it was the only pack he hadn't looked into and Dmitri wished to all the Gods above that he'd fine Cassandra.
He refused to believe that the ones who had killed her parents had caught her too; Dmitri's wolf could still feel her wolf despite whatever the distance was between them.
She's still alive.
"Alpha!" Two voices stop him from opening his car door.
Dmitri glares up to find Darius and Marina stood before him.
"We'd like to go with you and help retrieve the Luna." Darius continues.
The Alpha glances at the two black cars in which Logan was barking orders at some Weres who were coming along; the Beta and Alpha exchange glances before nodding at each other.
"Get in the car." Dmitri mutters to Darius and Marina.
