A/N: If you've read my book #5 (His Rejected Purebred) you'll recognize the Alpha and Luna from the Uncharted Pack
I watch as Micah's brows furrow in confusion before his eyes widen and pushes his way through the crowds.
"Cass?" His low voice still held that hint of moody Alpha tone that I'd always remember as I stride towards him.
"Micah, I'm so glad to see you!" I gasp as he wraps his sturdy arms around me.
I press my cheek against his chest as I close my eyes and hug him just as tightly. I hadn't realised how much I'd missed him.
"Who took you?" Micah squeezes me before pulling back on a frown, taking my face in his hands and looking over for my injuries.
"I was-"
"We need to go to the Alpha, Cass." Clark's hand rests lightly on my shoulder and Micah lets go of me.
"She's the sister you were talking about?" Micah's brows shoot up in silent surprise.
Before either Clark or I could bother to answer, I see the gathering crowd split for someone and everyone grows silent.
"It's about time you showed your ass up, I'm guessing this is your sister." A deep, husky voice that screamed dominance makes me straighten my back as I face the Alpha of the Uncharted Pack.
"Yes, it was a successful trip." Clark nods.
"Hunter." The Alpha nods to me curtly and it almost takes me a second too long to realise he was telling me his name.
"Cassandra... or just Cass." I say back in a rushed breath, his vivid blue eyes and assessing glare making me nervous.
"Make yourself at home; we'll see if you can survive dinner with the Lycan pack." Hunter flashes me a crocked smile that oddly suited him and I glance at Clark from the corner of my eye.
"I promise they're not so bad." He smiles.
When the Alpha leaves, the crowd disperses and I'm left with Micah and Clark.
"I'll leave you guys to catch up, I need Phoebe." Clark murmurs before driving further into the territory.
"Don't worry; I'll walk you back to your brother's." Micah reassures me when he notices my lost expression.
"Why are you here, Micah?" I finally ask as we set the pace towards Clark's home.
Micah gives a few dirty looks at some Lycans who were staring for a bit too long before answering.
"I gave my position as Alpha to Caleb." He murmurs, shoving his hands into his pockets casually.
I blink rapidly at the revelation and jerk my head towards him in shock; Micah raises a brow, daring me to say something as he scowls slightly.
"Why did you do that?!" I exclaim.
"From the day you left, I wasn't the same; I was falling apart and saw no reason to be an Alpha when I couldn't even sort myself out."
I didn't understand why he reacted that way to me leaving; to the Mountain Crest Pack I was nothing but an Omega.
"I don't get it, Micah. You gave up your position because of me?"
Micah stops walking and so do I, facing him as he lets out a long sigh and pushes a strand of hair behind me ear.
"Cassandra, I fell in love with you and wanted to make you Luna, but when you disappeared that prospect was snatched away from me and I couldn't handle another loss a second time."
