I stared the hunter down as I adjusted my gauntlet. The black metal piece of amour Glinted maliciously in the moonlight. I slid into a stance, the gravel crunching under my black hightops and my black joggers stretched as my feet parted. I stared him down as he stood tall. His full red body amour covered his entire body, including his face. A flash of lightning lashed through the thick darkness of the night. I could smell the mint in my breath as I breath into the black bandana covering the lower half of my face. My snapback cap shaded my dark colored eyes. I bunched up my fists, causing the leather of my fingerless gloves to stretch across my skin and my gauntlet moved with my fingers. I could feel the water hit my arms. They were exposed from my sleeveless hoodie.
"Give up." The hunter spoke, his voice distorted by a voice modifier.
"Give up, on me giving up." I growled as the rumble of thunder shook the rooftop of the sky scraper we both stood on.
"Then a fight it shall be." The hunter spoke before rushing me.
I Dodged to the side of a punch and threw my knee into his stomach, the knee brace under my knee made a loud clang as it connected with his amour. I kicked the back of his knee causing him to drop down to one knee. I followed up by slamming my gauntlet covered fist into the back of his helmet. His head jolted forward and he put his hands on the ground to stop his head from hitting hit. He attempted to leg sweep me and I jumped. He stretched his leg up and kicked me out the air. I crossed my arms over my chest to block but the kick sent me sailing away from him. I started skidding across the gravel on my back before flipping to my feet and sliding to a stop. I didn't have any time to regroup as the hunter was on me again, throwing punches as I dodged and waited for an opening. By now the rain was pouring. I blocked a punch and knocked the hunters arm back. My gauntlet became engulfed in black lightning before I slammed it into the hunter's chest. He was rocketed back but I didn't give him time to breath, I chased after his body as it was skidding across the ground. He flipped to his feet and blocked a swing I threw at him. He tried to counter with a punch to my stomach but I grabbed his wrist and slung him. He rushed me again and I ducked his swing and jumped over a leg sweep before slamming my foot into his helmet. Stumbled back and I started punching and kicking him in combos. Not letting him get any time to bring his guard back up. My gauntlet began charging up with back lightning and I grinned wickedly before jumping and slamming my lightning coated arm into his helmet, shattering it. I got a glimpse of hi- no.. her face before she covered it as she fell over. Whether she was dead or unconscious, I don't know.
"Foxy to base. Come in." I heard through my earpiece.
"Yo." I said in return as I started running towards the edge of the rooftop.
"Did you complete the mission?"
"Of course I did Party Monster."
"Any casualties?"
"Maybe."
"What?"
"I fought a hunter. I don't know if they're dead or not."
I heard a sigh over the earpiece as I cleared a gap between two buildings. I rolled as I landed and kept moving, quickly analyzing my surroundings so I could make my next move. I noticed a large banner that said "Obey The Man." I growled and sprinted towards it.
"Wait you killed someone?" Party Monster asked.
"Possibly." I chuckled.
"Get back to base." He ordered.
"Alright."
I Jumped off the edge of the roof and reached out with my gauntlet. The claws coming off the fingertips of it dug into the banner, cutting into it as I slid down it and dropped to the ground safely. I walked calmly down the sidewalk. I slipped into an alleyway and walked over to a dumpster. I tapped a melody on the side before whispering "It's me." The dumpster slid to the side revealing a hole. I jumped down into it and the dumpster slid back into place.
I landed in a crouched position, my hand flat against the ground before I slowly stood up.
"Hey Foxy." I turned my head to the voice.
"I already checked myself for tracking or listening devices, you don't have to use codenames in the base." I said to Vincent.
"Oh alright." He said chuckling as he scratched his blonde curls.
"I got the little USB drive you wanted so badly from their base." I told him.
"Really?!" His blue eyes widened behind his glasses.
I nodded and tossed him the bag that was on my back. He pulled out the flashdrive and plugged it into his laptop eagerly.
"T.J." I turned my head to see Party Monster, A.K.A Kyle, he was tossing a knife up and catching it again.
"Yo?" I replied.
"So did u learn anything new about the hunters?"
"Vincent is checking the USB drive right now."
"I mean battle wise." Kyle adjusted his glasses and slipped the knife into the holster that was attached to his cargo shorts.
"Not really, they're reaction timing is getting faster I guess."
He nodded and ran his hands through his thin brunette hair. He had a World of Warcraft shirt on and sneakers.
I caught a knife that almost entered the side of my head.
"You know most friends would just say hi, not throw a KNIFE AT MY FACE!" I Said before throwing the knife back at Kevin, A.K.A, chop chop.
"But I'm not like most friends...I'm better than them." He said smirking. His shoulder length curly blond hair was tied back into a pony tail and his green eyes glinted mischievously. He stood in grey sweatpants with a matching hoodie and black sneakers. He side stepped the knife and Luke, A.K.A, Sprinkles caught it as he walked in. I bit back a laugh.
"Hey Sprinkles." I laughed. He groaned and threw the knife into the wall.
"You know that name is just a place holder until I can think of a cool codename."
"Yeah okay....sprinkles."
"My name is Luke." He sighed.
"Yeah, I know." I laughed. I looked around.
"Where's Xavier?" I asked.
"Right here." He said walking into the room.
"How did the gauntlet work?" He asked excited.
"Its awesome. I destroyed with this thing." I bragged.
"Nice, I'll make more."
"Hey guys...you gotta see this." Vince called us over to the computer. We walked over to the computer and looked at the document.
"Apparently they're pulling kids outta high school and training them to join the hunters." Vincent explained as he read the documents.
"You guys know what this means?" I asked with a smirk.
"What?" They replied in unison.
"We're going to high school." I said laughing.
