Jace's PoV

I enjoyed the hunt it's been too long Ty was right I needed it. My wolf is happily yipping in my head, first he gets to finally mate and then he gets a run and hunt so he's on cloud nine. We are back at the pack house waiting on our boys but it's good to hang out with my friends too. "Who's up for a game of pool?" Dante asks and we all agree to play. The competitive streak in each of us starts to come to the front immediately and we are playing as if we were in a professional setting but we are having fun teasing each other while we are at it.

"Ha, I won again, huh what's new? Oh yeah nothing because I always win, losers" Damon the four year old is chanting at us. Used to his behaviour we just roll our eyes, ignore him and carry on. We are suddenly interrupted by John, the twins top warrior. "Alphas, we have rouges to the east" we drop everything. "How many John?" Damon questions in a deathly calm voice, while Dante stands tall beside him, it's clear to see why they run the biggest pack when they are like this. "Around three hundred sir and some look like they are feral". That's not good if a feral wolf bites you they pass it on to you and the disease is passed on. A feral wolf looses their mind and becomes rouge, whether they have a mate or not, you can tell if a wolf has it because they involuntary foam at the mouth.

"Ok, get the pack ready, women, children and submissive wolves go to the bunker. Men this is a serious situation please be careful but be warned you are my family and best friends but I will not hesitate to kill any feral wolf even if it's one of you.I expect to be treated in the same manner, got it?" We know it's pack law so we don't flinch at Damon's harsh words and reply "got it".

"Our mates will be returning from the south so they shouldn't come upon the fight but I have warned the Warriors and my beta that's with them to return now and to be extra vigilant" I inform them. They nod in appreciation and I know we all feel the same sickening worry at not having them here.

We take off, as soon as we get through the front door we shift leaving our shredded clothes behind. I can feel my wolf going into protective mode and I allow him to take over. As soon as we reach the fight I rip and claw my way through killing any rouge that crosses my path. I feel a gust of wind behind my back leg and jump just before a rouge tries to claw me. I bite into his throat and leave him to die.

I look up and see Mason fighting but he's unaware there is a feral wolf just behind him and he's charging in on him. I don't stop to think as I also charge forward,I reach the wolf just as he bares his teeth to bite Mason, I can let him become feral Tim and Rory would be devastated so I take the chance and leap onto his back.

One wrong move and I'm getting bitten so I use all my alpha strength and sink my teeth into the back of his neck but that won't kill him. I pull back his head with my mouth, hoping I make an accurate move, I reach around to his throat extending my claw and I tear at it. Within seconds I hear the gurgling sound that lets me know I avoided his bite and I am relieved.

Mason yips at me and I yip back. He knows I just saved him but that's not important now. I start to fight again until I hear Marco through the link 'alpha, Luna Skyler is in the shopping centre he started screaming and now he's shaking and crying, we can't calm him down, not even Luna Tyler can what should I do sir?' Fuck what's happened to him he's usually the calm one.

'Take him into your arms, if he allows it and get him home I'm leaving the fight as we speak and I'll meet you along the way' I've already left so I link the guys 'problem with Skyler, I'm leaving to meet him, sorry for leaving the fight but mates come first' I don't allow anyone time to answer I just pick up my speed. I'm half way there when I feel it, something small but sharp pinched my left hind leg I yelp from the shock of rather than from the pinch.

I start to feel weird and sluggish, next my leg goes from under me and I need to stop running, my vision is blurred but I see a figure approach me. I don't give up I bark and bare my teeth, I need to get to my mates, they need me. "Stupid alpha, I knew my plan would work, now you need to calm down and come with me. We will wait, my pet will come to me willingly once he knows I have you. The serum is kicking in, boys take him" he clicks his fingers at them.

I don't know who this son of a bitch is but he's not getting any of my mates, I can't fight the blackness that's coming over me. My last thought is, why didn't listen to my own orders, never go anywhere alone.
