Chapter twenty two

Tyler's PoV

I know the alpha twins won't be happy when they wake up and realise we've gone, we waited until three to ensure they were asleep but we needed to be the ones to get our mate back. So far we haven't encountered any wolves and I'm glad he's dumb enough to think we wouldn't be here yet. When we reach the cabin it's dark inside letting us know the wolves are sleeping, we slow down and look for an opening anywhere, there is a small window open that leads into what looks like a living room.

Sky will fit if he changes back, I look at him and he nods, he shifts and puts on clothes we brought. Ever so gently he slips through the window and opens the larger one for me, I slip through and think about how we learned to be so quiet. We used to have to sneak down to the pack kitchen for food once in a while so we became good at it, while that's horrible to think I'm grateful for that skill right now. We sniff to catch Jace's scent and begin quietly moving from room to room to find him. We reach the basement and we know he's in here.

I open the door and see him in the middle of the room tied to that damn chair, Skyler wastes no time and rushes over to him. The first thing he does is goes to the back of the chair to untie him but the second he touches the silver ropes an alarm blasts over head. "Fuck, they alarmed him, get them off quicker" I tell him while shutting the door before going over to help him. It's too late, by the time we get the rope off when we hear him "aww, it's not nice to wake people up but since you brought me my pet I'll forgive you".

We free Jace but he's pretty out of it, I sit him against the wall and put Skyler behind me. Then I hear fighting upstairs and I was never so glad to be followed in my life, how stupid were we to think Damon and Dante wouldn't figure us out. I don't care right now because right now there is a maniac with a machete, a very long, very sliver one at that, standing in front of us and he wants my brother.

Skylers PoV

Oh goddess, we walked ourselves into his hands but we just wanted our mate safe and sound. He keeps trying to look at me over Ty's shoulder but I'm ducking away. I don't care if I seem like a coward he disgusts me and I can still remember everything he did to me, so here I am again hiding behind my poor brother. This man has done unimaginable things to Ty but he is still here protecting me as always.

"Just like old times eh, I love this little game of cat and mouse but from what I hear upstairs I don't have the time or the pleasure to beat and rape you into submission little Tyler. Oh how I loved it, you fought so hard every time, oh wait, it wasn't every time though was it. No I recall three wonderful days where I finally broke you and I had the pleasure of having my little pet. No, this time I'm just going to cut that pretty head off your shoulders and take what's mine for good" Dimitri mocks up with a look of satisfaction on his face. I gasp and I feel Ty tense at his disgusting words. Dimitri laughs loving that he got a reaction out of us. "Oh that's it boys, I love the look of fear in your eyes Tyler, it's not even fear for yourself no it's for your delicious litt-" "shut up you sick freak, your not getting near him" Ty growls. "Oh no? Watch me"

He starts walking toward us with the knife raised but Ty won't move, I'm pulling his top from behind desperately but he doesn't budge "you are a sick coward preying on the innocent and weak. You will never take my brother but you might take your last disgusting breath trying, so come on daddy's boy try" is he fucking insane he'll be killed. "No Ty, no, I'll go, don't let-" "your going nowhere with this sicko, never again" he tells me.

"Please Ty don't let him kill you for me, you've taken too much already because of me you can't die" I'm a sobbing mess at this stage as I try to pull my brother away from that man. "Ty move!" I shout when I see Dimitri raise the sword with a look of complete happiness on his face. Just as he reaches us two hands wrap around his throat from behind, suddenly they twist it and I hear a sickening crack. His face contorts and he falls to the ground with a thud.

I'm momentarily shocked but look up to see Nick standing in place of Dimitri, I can't stop myself as I smack Ty across the face but then hug him as if my life depended on it. "You fool, how could you do that to me, never do that again, I need you" "I'm sorry Artemis took over he knew Rockford was near so he had to keep that bastard occupied. I'm so sorry but it needed to be done, I love you now let's check our mate".

I don't though, the first thing I do is hug Nick "thank you and thank Rockford too please" "it was my honour Luna" I leave him and go help my twin carry our bruised mate up the stairs and outside. All that are left standing are our pack and the helping packs. "Let me take him" Damon offers but we decline and carry him to a car they borrowed from their friend Rick.

We place him across our laps so he's comfortable as Dante and Luka get in the front. They tell us we are going straight home and the doc will be waiting. At least I think that's what they said because I can't stop staring at my brother and mate and thinking how lucky we are to be here together.
