I must admit Steven looked adorable with his grey beanie on his black silky hair. It allowed a few loose strands to dangle above his olive colored eyes. He surprised me by wearing nothing but a long sleeve black sweater and a pair of dark jeans. Even as it was damn near below zero. And dropping. He was covered in snow but simply dusted his shoulders off and stuffed his hands in his pockets.
"Who told you I was here?" I ask standing out of my chair and heading for the door. I could hear his sneakers following behind.
"My brilliant intuition." He replied smugly.
"Did I also tell you that I didn't want to see you?"
"It tells me no lies." He held the door open for me. "So where we heading?"
"IM going shopping." I walked out, my boots crunched in the snow. I looked around for a taxi in sight but there was mostly just a string of walking people. "Not so sure about you."
"Im going wherever you're going." He pressed his hand on his chest with a big smile. "We should be shopping buddies."
"No thanks, I fly solo."
"So I take it you're single now?"
"No, Ken and I have rekindled." I saw a taxi slowly riding by and waved it down.
"Really?"
"Yes really." The taxi slowed up and I swung the door open. "So goodbye, and Merry Christmas."
"Not so fast," He held the handle of the door as I tried to close it. "Im cold."
"So," I shrugged. "Go to your apartment."
"Hey, guys, I don't have all night either get in or get out." The cab driver warned reviving up the engine. Steven smiled maliciously.
"Sorry sir," He pushed me and I slid to the other side of the cab as he got in. I knew I couldn't push him out and I couldn't get out, because I didn't see another cab in sight. So I just crossed my arms over my chest and sighed.
"Take me to times square please,"
"You got it," The driver pulled off.

25 minutes of awkward silence later we were getting out of the cab in the center of the big apple. He held the door open and assisted me out the car. At least there was some sign of being a gentleman. I hopped out and we went into Macy's. I had made a shopping list in the cab on my phone. I had to get my nieces, Harper and Hailey clothes of course. I had to get Daniel some business ties, Dad some new leather loafers, and Mom a nice bathrobe of some sort. I wasn't sure what to get Ken. I mean he had possibly everything that anyone could ask for. So I left a question mark by his name.
"Are you going to buy anything or just watch me?" I narrowed my eyes at him leaning on the rack.
"Does it annoy you if I just stand by and stare?"
"YES."
"Then I will continue to do so."
I rolled my eyes and found matching pink knit beanies. Perfect for the twins. Now all I needed to finish them up was two outfits.
"You don't need to do any Christmas shopping of your own?"
"Nope, I've got some time. I won't get to see my family this Christmas."
"Why not?"
"Well I waited too late to try and book a flight to Chicago...all sold out." He shrugged.
"Well what about Jon, Veronica, Aaron and Seth?" I examined a dress on the rack. "They're your family right?"
"Well, yeah. But they booked their fights to Chicago on time." He smirked.
