Part 1

[Nyomi's POV]

I'd been running for about half and hour, when I turned into the neighborhood that connected to mine. I looked down at Chevy, my dog, to make sure he was still keeping pace and kept running. I was too busy thinking about my post run shower and I didn't see the football flying at me. It nailed me in the shoulder and I tripped over Chevy into someone's lawn. I laid there stunned and in rage when a cute blonde boy ran over to me and offered to help me up. "Hey, sorry about that!" he smiled sheepishly "I uhh didn't go wide enough". I blinked at him, "it's okay" I said then turned to leave. "Wait" he called, I turned and looked at him "what's your name?" "the names Nyomi and this is Chevy" I said petting Chevy before turning to continue my run. "I'm Ross!" he called but I didn't turn around because I didn't care. I finished my run and turned into my driveway, I stopped and swiped my card so the gates would open and I let Chevy off his leash. I couldn't stop thinking about this boy, yeah he was gorgeous but kinda rude, he didn't even ask if I was alright after he nailed me with a football. I rolled my eyes at the thought as I opened the front door, only to be bombarded by my little sister, Lacey and two of her friends. "Nyomi!" she shouted "I need a favorrrr" she and her friends were jumping around "Lacey, you are too young to be needing favors" I said as I tried to sneak towards the stairs"nuh uhh" she stuck out her tongue "I'm 13, I need a favor and mom said you had to take us". "Fine" I sighed knowing I wouldn't win "what do you need?" "I NEED YOU TO TAKE US TO THE MALL BECAUSE R5 IS DOING A SPUR OF THE MOMENT SIGNING AT 7 FOR THEIR UPCOMING TOUR" she let out a scream and they started jumping again. It was 5:30 now, I looked at her "be ready by 6:30 or we aren't going" and I headed up the stairs straight to my bathroom. I turned on the shower and called my mom, she answered on the second ring "Hey hun, whatcha need" she sounded like she was driving "so I have to deal with Lacey and her friends tonight?" "oh yeah, thanks for that Nyomi" I sighed "mom do I have too" "yes Nyomi, I'm working and your dad is still in Florida. Do this for me" "Fine but I'm taking Mel with me", she laughed, "well between you two I'm sure you can handle three 13 year olds, love you!" and she hung up. I took my shower and proceeded to call Mel and see if she wanted to join me at the mall, "do you think I would pass up a trip to the mall, even if we have your sister?" I laughed "no I was just checking, we are leaving at 6:30 so I'll get you on the way" . 

Time check, it was 6, so I went to my closet and grabbed jean shorts, a purple crop top with sparkly sandals. I ran a brush through my brown wavy hair and applied some makeup, looking in the mirror I shrugged and ran downstairs. Lacey and her friends were blaring some music from the living room so I headed to the kitchen for a snack, after searching the cabinets I settled for oreos as Lacey bounded into the kitchen. "Aaaand that's whyyy-y-y I'm crazy for you, crazy it's true" she sang and pointed to me "leggo!" I looked at her already annoyed "get in the car and we are getting Mel on the way" grabbing my keys to unlock the car for them. I sent a text to Mel letting her know that we were leaving. 15 minutes later we pulled up to the mall in Long Beach and piled out of the car. Lacey forced us to listen to R5 the entire way there and I concluded that they weren't too bad. Lacey and her friends took off running towards the mall entrance while Mel and I strolled behind, window shopping as we went. Finally we caught up with them, they were seventh in line, and were rambling about what they wanted the band to sign. Just then they walked out and took their seats, my eyes practically bugged out of my head and I hit Mel "ow" she whined "what was that for" I pointed to the gorgeous blonde who nailed me with a football "you see him" "heck yeah I see him" her jaw dropped "he nailed me with a football on my run today" she couldn't take her eyes off him "I'd let him nail me with football anytime" she said laughing. I looked back to the front and we made eye contact, he smiled. I tapped Lacey on the shoulder, "hey who's the blonde?" "him" she pointed to the kid who hit me "that's Ross" she replied. "I met him this afternoon" I told her, she laughed "yeah right, he's waaaay too cool for you" she turned back to her friends laughing.
