"Good afternoon, Mr.Toml– Louis." greeted Harry nervously as he walked into the man's classroom, trying to stop his hands from shaking by hiding them behind his back. "May I please speak with you?"
Louis looked up from his laptop and took off his glasses, sitting them on top of his keyboard before lowering the screen to give Harry his attention. He looked proper today – not that he didn't any other day – with a black sweater over a white collared shirt, as well as a blue tie and tight black pants. His expression wasn't dull like how he usually looked at Harry when he came in here; it was welcoming.
"Sure. Is everything okay?" Why is he being so nice? thought Harry fearfully, knowing that something had to be off, or Louis must have bumped his head this week.
"No, it's actually about the presentation. I think that I should do it – I need, um, a way to get over my anxiety, and so the first step is to conquer my fear. So no need to worry about it anymore, just delete the presentation email from your computer and–" Harry stopped speaking when Louis' hand raised in the air, signaling him to shut his mouth so that he could speak.
"You're sweating so much, you're going to flood my classroom." said Louis bluntly, his finger pointing towards the top of Harry's forehead. "Listen, I was a jerk, so I'm saying sorry by doing this for you. Now if you'd excuse me–"
"I need to...make a few adjustments to it." breathed Harry, unintentionally beginning to scratch at his arm, which certainly caught Louis' attention because now the man was looking at him with squinted eyes. He must know that something was going on, and Harry hoped that he didn't open the presentation right then and there to see.
"Are you high, Harry?"
"What? No!" yelled Harry incredulously, but Louis didn't look too convinced because he blinked twice before rolling his eyes and opening his laptop back up. There was no way that Louis was going to give him the presentation back, and Harry wanted to cry because this had to be the day that his life would be ruined. He needed to do something quick or else–
Suddenly, Principal Plowser stuck his head into the room and smiled at the two, nodding his head towards the hall before pointing to his watch. The assembly had to be starting because Harry could see the students shuffling in the direction of the auditorium; their loud voices traveling through the hallway. "Mr.Tomlinson, you have five minutes to set up. Harry, you need to go sit with your homeroom class immediately."
Giving a quick thumbs up, Louis picked up his laptop and moved away from his desk, giving Harry a subtle glance before walking towards the door with a dazzling smile. Harry itched his arm as he followed close behind Louis, and right as he entered the auditorium. He could hear the students whispering about what they think the assembly was going to be about, some blatantly saying that it had to be about sex or fires – the usual.
"You look like you're about to shit yourself." said Liam as he leaned over to speak to Harry, who had taken a seat right next to him. "Don't tell me you hadn't told him about the whole 'I used your old video as a meme' thing."
"I wanted to, but I couldn't."
Sighing, Liam leaned back in his chair and looked up at the stage; watching as Louis connected a wire to the computer so that the beginning of the presentation appeared on screen. "Dear God, if no one makes it out of this building today, then I just want to say that–"
I have to stop this, thought Harry, and with this in mind, he cut Liam off by standing up from his chair. Just as he was about to run onstage and stop Louis from taking the microphone, the buckle of his boot got caught on the bottom of his seat. Since he was close to the front, his head collided with the wood and sent his body to the floor; then after three seconds of blinking, he passed out.
