Hey people's sorry it's taken me so long to update this story, just been hetic with starting me new job and what not. So I thought I'd post two chapters this time round.
Here's the first one in my two for one special.
Hope you enjoy.
“How come you're home so late? I didn't think you were going out tonight,” Alex asked once I found her in the living room with Brad, watching some late night movie on the television.
“Tara called and asked me out,” I smiled as I sat down on the lazy-boy and put the foot rest up.
“I'm going to bed,” Brad muttered, standing up and walking out of the room in a great big huff.
“I thought he'd be happy to hear about me having a date, it means that I'll stop scamming on his girl,” I teased him behind his back.
“Apparently not,” we both laughed at how childish Brad was. “He's a sweet guy really,” Alex said out of the blue.
“I know, Alex, you don't have to explain yourself to me,” I kept my eyes glued to the telly. “But he could be the sweetest, most romantic guy of all time and I still wouldn't like the way he treats you when I'm around, he needs to grow up and get over himself,” I finally turned to face her.
“I know,” Alex said quietly. “We'll probably get in another fight if I go to bed before he falls asleep too,” she sighed.
“I'm sorry,” I looked away again, looking down at my hands fidgeting in my lap.
“It's not your fault, Simmy,” Alex reassured me. “Anyway, how was your date?” Alex changed the subject after a couple minutes of silence. So I told her all about my date. “I'm glad to hear that you didn't end up in hospital this time,” Alex laughed once I'd finished retelling the events of the night.
“Always a bonus,” I grinned.
“And her friends were all good?” Alex asked.
“Yeah they were great,” I replied.
“That's awesome, Simmy, I'm really happy for you and it's about time you found yourself a girl,” she stood up and made her way to the door.
“I can put a movie on if you don't want to face him just yet,” I called out to her retreating back.
“Yeah, that sounds like a better option,” Alex turned back around with a small grin on her face.
“What do you feel like watching?” I asked, standing up ready to retrieve the movie from my room.
“How about one of the Resident Evil movies?” Alex asked.
“As long as it's the one with the sexy Michelle Rodriguez in it,” I commented taking a few steps toward the door.
“Or we could just watch all of them,” Alex suggested, stopping me in my tracks.
“Are you planning on not even going to bed tonight?” I asked.
“Maybe,” Alex said quietly.
“What ever, but just so you know, I'm going to need some sleep tonight, I'm going to watch Tara's ice hockey match tomorrow arvo,” I warned Alex and went off to get all of the Resident Evil movies from my room. We ended up watching all of them, even the animated one and didn't get to bed until the sun came up.

Joan Jett woke me up again with another call from Aunty Morgan. When I opened my eyes and found out that it'd been only five hours since my head had hit the pillow I was half tempted to ignore the call and go back to sleep. But being the good niece that I am, I answered the call.
