Chapter 13
“Alex, what are you doing here?” I say shocked, with my mouth hanging over.
"I thought I would spend the night because I didn't want you to be stuck with him by yourself." He nods to Jett, but still keeps his eyes on me.
"Oh..." Is all I say because I am too shocked to say anything else.
"You're not staying here!" Jett states.
"Yes I am." Alex replies calmly.
"It is my house, and I decide who stays here or not." I am really surprised by how rude Alex is being, I mean no one demands to stay in someone else's house, and Alex doesn't even know them that well.
"What's going on?" Mrs Burke asks from the door with Veronica, Tori, Brittany and Missy stood behind her, all with unhappy looks on their faces as they stare at Jett.
"He's demanding that he spend the night because Lianna is here." Jett says darkly.
"Who is he?" Mrs Burke asks snootily, and I'm shocked because I've never seen her act like that to anyone; she is usually nice to everyone she meets.
"I'm Alex, Lianna's boyfriend." He states proudly and wraps his arm around my waist, and I try not to cringe away from him. "And to be honest I am not very comfortable with her spending the night with him."
"Well, you are not staying over." Brittany states in the same tone as Mrs Burke.
"It is not fair to make a person stay over in your house while being handcuffed to a person like him; for you know she might not like spending time here by herself and she might feel really uncomfortable being around a family that she might not like." Al says rudely and I stare at him in shock.
“Lianna, do you not like staying her?” Brittany asks me, turning her back on Alex.
“I…” I don’t know what to say.
“See! She doesn’t mind staying here!” Brittany says smugly, pointing at me while facing Jett.
“She never even answered!” Alex argues.
“Stop!” Mrs Burke shouts, glaring at Alex with so much hatred. “I don’t know who gave you the right to come barging into my home like you own it and demand that I should let you spend the night just because you’re Lianna’s friend.” Mrs Burke says darkly, and her grandchildren stare at Alex with smug smiles on their faces.
“I’m her boyfriend.” Alex corrects.
“Whatever; that still does not give you the right to demand to stay here.” Mrs Burke dismisses rudely.
What is it with everyone and being rude?!-I think to myself.
“We should let Lianna decide?” Veronica cuts in, even though I can tell she doesn’t like Jett, I know that she is the most sensible so she will hide her feelings better.
I stare at her in shock along with the rest of her family.
“What?” I ask dumbly.
“Do you want Alex to stay or not?” Her family begins to argue with her decision but she silences them with a look.
“I… don’t… know…” I mumble looking between Jett’s family and Alex.
“Don’t you love me?” Alex says hurt filling his features, making my heart fill with guilt.
“Uhm… Yeah?” I say; I don’t want to hurt Alex’s feelings, and I already feel guilty about what happened between Jett and I before in his bedroom while I am going out with Alex.
