The Lost Girl

Chapter 12- "2 months. 60 days. 1,440 seconds"

WE ARE FINALLY DOING A POINT OF VIEW 🙏🏼 I've been looking forward to this chapter for awhile now because my story is actually going somewhere.

Chapter 12
*Bethany's pov*
Daniel and I had been unofficially daring for 2 months now and Halloween was just around the corner. The spring had been removed and fall colors covered the town. Short shorts had been replaced by jeans and uggs, and school overall had looked 100 times less skanky. Girls still flirted with my unofficial boyfriend but it never bothered me because he loved me not them. We spent more time together and although we had our arguments we were doing better than ever. Austin was out of the picture and my "parents" and I came to an understanding. As much as I wanted us to be official I wasn't going to push it on Daniel.

"I love you." I whispered into his ear, we were sitting in his bed like usual watching Halloween movies.

"I love you too." He said. Over the 2 months he'd gotten used to saying it and he wasn't so tense when he says those 3 words anymore.

2 months. 60 days. 1,440 seconds. I spent with this guy nonstop and he still loved me as much as the first day.

(AUTHORS NOTE: I know it may seem weird or like she's dating her brother but it's not. Remember she's just living with them and she just calls them her parents for the hell of it.)

*Daniel's pov*
When I woke up that morning a beautiful girl was sleeping in my arms next to me, she had a single strand of hair in her face that I desired to move so I could see her full beauty.

It was Beth.

I moved the strand of hair out of her face observing all her feature before realizing I had to take a shower now or I'd be late to school. Beth had started going to school with no makeup now partially because we were lying in my bed together and we would be late so we had to get out of bed quick but also because she was more confident. I unhappily tore myself away from Beth to take a shower when she latched onto me tighter.

"Beth I really have to take a shower or I'll be late." I whispered trying not to disturb her.

"Then let's be late." She said in a morning voice. She was quiet and not to mention half asleep but who could deny her? Definitely not me. So I lied back down and we skipped school for the first time enjoying each other's company too much to leave.

I still had to think of a way to ask her out. Officially. I mean we'd been dating for 2 months and everyone knew about us so it to them was official, but I wanted to make it special for Beth. She loved Halloween but she loved Christmas too, so I had to ask her sometime around then. If we went to a Halloween party I could ask her and besides she'd love it, at least I hoped.

"Beth?"

"Yeah Daniel?"

"Let's play 20 questions."

"Okay."

"How many boyfriends have you had?"

"Just you. What about you?"

"Probably 4 and the rest were just flings."

"Okay. When'd you start loving me?"

I had to think about this but at the same time I didn't because I loved her the moment I met her and got to know her. "When you went to school in that outfit on the first day, you got me hell of jealous. For me to be jealous was unusual, and you?"

"The nerf gun war when we first kissed."

( Me being me note: I wish I had a boyfriend that would do this. Like this makes my heart melt.)

"When did your dad start abusing you?" My voice shifted from careless to more stern because this was a serious topic that I wanted to know about.

"As long as I can remember. 10 would be my guess. I try to forget it so my memories a little shaky when it first started but around then." She said still half asleep

"Do you love Austin?" I just needed to know.

She didn't respond for a minute then she finally spoke, "I love him. And the only him in my life is you. I love you, not a single other person and nothing can change that."

"I lost count of the number of questions Beth."

"I did too but at least I'm with you. Although I couldn't do math right now for the life of me."

"Why?"

"You. Daniel you mess me up like whenever I'm around you I get butterflies and you make me lose all focus on everything but you."

Beth kisses me again and then we cuddled under blankets watching chick flicks instead of horror movies. We had a regular routine now to where She would sleep in my room because if I'm being honest were like lovesick puppies. I can't get enough of her and she can't get enough of me. My parents were okay with her and I being together, she actually wanted us to be together. She thought we were a match made in heaven and even started talking about our wedding, it was awkward but whatever as long as Beth was in my life I didn't care. She would randomly kiss me at lunch in front of all our friends and then she'd  turn into a tomato because PDA (public display of affection) got her super embarrassed. In the middle of the day I'd walk her to class like a gentleman and sometimes we'd kiss before class, we had so many teachers bust us, because we "weren't allowed to show PDA" at school as some teachers said.

*Beth's pov*

Prom was just around the corner in less than a month which I was pumped for. I didn't know if Daniel wanted to go but I'd try to convince him if he didn't want to go. We were still in bed and it was 5 pm when I decided to ask him about prom.

"Did you want to go to prom Daniel?"

"Not really. Do you want to?"

"Yeah, but if you don't it's fine." I said not wanting to push the prom subject on him.

"As long as I'm with you I don't care where we are, so prom it is."

I kissed him excited that I'd get to go to prom with him and have fun. I never would have thought he'd agree to go but since he's willing I'm not going to question it. He was such a sweet unofficial boyfriend that I wanted it to be official so bad.

"I love you Daniel, my unofficial boyfriend." I said before drifting off to sleep.

Every time I said unofficial before boyfriend it pained my heart but he's been so flexible in this relationship it was time I drop that and not pressure him to make it official, all our friends thought it was official even though we told them it was unofficial until he asked me in a bigger way, so that should be good enough. We're both happy and in love what more could you ask for?
