"I'm not pressing charges, we're fine. I just need to get home before Neil gets back," Kathy packed away the few belongings she had at the hospital, as Olivia tried to coax her to come down to the station.
"Kathy please. Kenna told me about Neil, about the abuse. Let me help you!"
"Kenna? That girl is just like her father, a liar!" She exclaimed and threw on her jacket. Olivia stepped in front of her before she could leave.
"Please, just take my card," she handed it to Kathy, and she shoved the card into her pocket.
"Gee, thanks," she scoffed and exited the room, leaving Olivia feeling as though she had failed. These were the cases that drove her into frustration. Knowing that a woman was so terrified of her abuser, that she wouldn't press charges. But little did Olivia know..Kathy didn't want help from her for other reasons.
Stabler Hampton Estate
All of the children were down finally for bed, except for Penelope, who refused to sleep in her own bed tonight. Failing to convince her that there were no monsters under her bed, Elliot and Olivia found themselves making room in their bed for one more."She looks so much like my mother, it's insane," Olivia said quietly as she rubbed the top of Penelope's head, while she slept between them.
"It's not a bad thing Liv," he replied, noticing the concerning look on her face.
"I guess so. She had her good days..."
"Have you ever thought about having just one more?" Elliot let the words one more fall carefully from his lips. Not sure how his wife would react to his question.
She paused for a moment as though she were in deep thought. "It's come to mind once or twice, but El I'm 40 years old now. And four kids..oh my god."
"I think we can do it," he smirked at her, eliciting a small laugh from her.
"You think so?"
"I know so."
She sat for a moment, twiddling her thumbs. Replaying the question over in her head.
"So..what does this mean?"
"I guess it means...we're gonna try..for a baby," she said shyly with a smile slowly spreading across her face.
"Are you sure?" Elliot tried his best to hide his excitement, but the light in his eyes showed, even in their moonlit room.
"Mm hm," she nodded quickly. He pulled her face to his, careful of Penelope between them, and kissed her lovingly.
"This is great babe!" he kissed her over and over.
"El, slow down!" She laughed out. "We've got plenty of time to get to that," she kissed him one last time, before snuggling close to Penelope and falling asleep with a smile etched across her face.
The Precinct
It had been over a week since vic Kathy refused to receive help, and Olivia couldn't seem to shake the terrified look on Kenna's face when she told her about Neil. She found herself often times distracted, wanting to go check in on Kathy. But she knew that would be pushing the boundaries as lieutenant. She did, however, find a little bit of time to look into Kathy Moore's file and found that she had a small record, a small drug bust here and there, but it didn't start until a few years ago. In contrast, her so called "boyfriend" Neil had a record going back at least 15 years. These files weren't enough for Olivia, she needed more. She needed to help Kathy, get her to see that her daughter needed her.
She sat and contemplated for a while, before grabbing her badge and gun, and heading out the door in an effort to visit Kathy.
She stood and waited in front of the incredibly slow elevator, and huffed as the doors finally opened. She was shocked to be met with the ocean blue eyes that were her husbands.
"Hey," he stepped off and greeted his wife with a sweet kiss.
"El, you're here early."
"I was thinking that maybe we could grab dinner..just us," he wrapped his arms around her waist, not caring at all that they were in view of everyone. "And maybe get started on making that baby?" He whispered playfully into her ear, making the hairs on the back of her neck stand up.
The thought of going to check in on Kathy soon dwindled, as her knees became weak at the thought of the things she knew he'd do to her tonight.
This is super short, but I wanted to give you all something. Finals are almost over, but I'm getting sick now ):
