"You ARRESTED my mom? I thought you were going to help her!" Kenna yelled in Olivia's office once they returned to the precinct.
"Kenna I am helping her! When we got there she was extremely high, sweetie there were drugs lined up. She wasn't going to stop, she would've overdosed," Kenna sat on the couch in her office with her head between her knees, balling her eyes out. Olivia felt her heart shatter into a million pieces.
Kenna was Olivia.
She knew what it was like to grow up with a mother who struggled with addiction. Wanting her to get help, to get better, but couldn't deal with the pain that came along with it. Watching your mom try to get better for you, but fail every time.
"I will try to talk to her okay?" She rubbed her shoulder in an effort to console her. Kenna nodded and blinked away her last few tears.
Olivia glanced at her watch and seen it was nearing 7 pm. There was no way she would be getting home in time to tuck the kids into bed. She took a deep breathe before entering the interrogation room, where Kathy was pacing, rambling on and on to herself.
"How long has she been like this?" She asked Nick who was standing in the corner of the room observing.
"I brought up Kenna and it set her off," Olivia stepped closer but still remained on the other side of the table.
"Kathy?" She kept pacing, whispering to herself. "How about we sit down?" Olivia said a little louder. Kathy stopped in her tracks, looking down, her messy blonde hair covering her face.
"I have to go get Kenna."
"Kathy, I don't think that's a good idea right now."
"She can't know! You have to stay away from her!" Olivia kept saying to herself that maybe it was the drugs talking, but Kathy had been talking about her being a problem since they arrested her.
"Why do I need to stay away?"
"Because she'll find out," she took a seat at the table.
"Find out what Kathy?" Olivia sat across from her, anxious.
"That YOU ruined our lives! That YOU are the reason her father left us!" She was full on yelling at Olivia at this point. Nick stood beside Olivia, intrigued at the statement Kathy had made.
"What do you mean?"
"Your husbands name is Elliot Stabler? That son of a bitch knocked me up..told me he was gonna do right by me and break up with you when you two were dating. So I waited, next thing I know I'm in labor with this bastards child, and he's no where to be found. I seen you two in the newspaper some years ago when you got promoted and what not. Your belly was swollen with what should have been my child! Your finger wore what should have been my ring!" She growled at Olivia as she leaned across the table leaving only inches between them.
"You are one crazy bitch, you know that?" Olivia snarled back, not flinching one bit. She didn't feel threatened by Kathy. Her and Elliot were both successful in their careers and apart of the public eye. Any woman could have made up this story.
"You don't believe me?"
"Why should I?"
"Why would I go to such depths to lie?" Olivia laughed and stood from her chair.
"You are high on cocaine and only lord knows what else, so I'm gonna give you the benefit of the doubt and say it's the drugs talking. Nick, take her to holding. I'm done talking," Olivia left the room, slamming the door behind her.
