Olivia prepared to face another day, as she got ready for her appointment with Dr.Ragen. She didn't want to keep Elliot from being apart of his children's lives, and allowed for him to come along today. Nothing had been the same since last week. Olivia all together had been stressed and still unsure of what direction they were going. There were times when she would find herself attempting to rationalize the situation. That they were barely even together during that time, but the point was that he cheated. When he came home and made love to her, he had just gotten back from fucking another woman. Which put Olivia in check real quick.
"Mama, I wanna stay with you!" Penelope pouted in her mother's arms. Their nanny Ava would be getting the kids out of the house today, while Olivia and Elliot went to her doctors appointment.
"Baby I promise when you get back home we can snuggle and watch any movie you want!" she kissed her baby girl and carefully placed her on the ground. "Mama loves you guys. Be good for Ava!" She kissed each of her kids before they each walked out the door.
She sat and finished her tea, as an awkward silence filled the house. Elliot walked into the kitchen to drink his morning coffee, but stopped when he seen his wife sitting at the breakfast bar. She was beautiful, breathtaking in fact. It had been years since she had carried a child, and he had forgotten just how well pregnancy fit her. He wanted to take her in his arms and kiss her badly, tell her how much he loved her over and over, because he knew how much him fawning over her made her blush. But instead he smiled and continued to make his coffee.
"Good morning," he tried to say as nonchalantly as possible. Everyday he attempted to hold a conversation with her, but her one word responses shut him down. It frustrates him but he knew she was still dealing, that he deserved it.
She only nodded and gave him a small smile.
"You think we'll get to know the gender of the babies today?" He stood across from where she sat.
"Not sure."
"I think it's gonna be a set of boys," she fiddled around on her phone, not looking up once.
"We should get going," she placed her cup in the sink and went to gather her things.
**********
Olivia's 16 week check up went well as expected, but they weren't able to determine the gender just yet. They twins were already giving her a hard time, and making her wait another 4 weeks until her next appointment. They arrived home and the kids still hadn't made it back yet from their day out with Ava. Olivia had hoped they'd be home, because right now she needed their love more than anything.
"So today I'm supposed to be meeting Kathy and her lawyer about Kenna and where to go from here," Elliot emerged from the bathroom while Olivia rested in bed. The drive into the city and the appointment had exhausted her completely. She was thankful she had take the day off.
"Okay," she answered short.
"Liv please say something!" he yelled and startled her. He couldn't take the silence any longer. "YELL AT ME! SAY MORE THAN TWO WORDS TO ME!" He stood at the end of the bed, letting his hot head get the best of him.
She quickly dashed from the bed, and into the adjoining bathroom, slamming the door behind her.
"Baby..I'm sorry," he leaned against the door. "I-I didn't mean to yell. It's just..how are we supposed to be working towards what we used to be, if you won't even speak to me?" He was only met with the sound of her cries from the other side of the door. Elliot felt defeated, he didn't know what to do. "You know what? I'll go.." He stood for a few seconds, hoping she would open the door to stop him, but she didn't.
