I sat next to Trents unconscious body examining, for probably the thousandth time, all of his injuries. His face was swollen, he had a black eye, his lip was cut open and I'm pretty sure his nose was broken. A tear fell from my eye onto his cheek and I realized I was crying. I whipped my eyes with the back of my hand and rubbed.

"How's he doing?" my mom asked, making me jump slightly. I just nodded and kept my eyes on Trent. She smoothed my hair comfortingly and whipped a tear from my cheek. "I'm sure he will be fine." I could tell by her voice that she was just as scared for him as I was.

As she turned to leave I finally found my voice. "Thank you, mom," was all I could manage. She rubbed my back then left the room.

I looked down at Trent's now clean but still bruised face and kisses his cheek softly. He groaned softly and he shifted slightly.

"Trent?" I whispered, unable to speak any louder.

His eyes fluttered open and he looked at me. I looked into his eyes and half smiled.

"Don't look at me like that, Ellie," he said weakly. "I'm fine. Just a little sore is all." He sat up and winced. "Okay maybe a little more than a little bit."

I cleared my throat and said "You should be laying down resting." I rubbed his head softly. "You've been through a lot."

"You look like you could use some rest too." He reached up and caressed my cheek. "How long since you last slept?"

"Since the other night when you were with me," I admitted.

He looked at me shocked and asked "How long have I been out?"

"Two days," I whispered.

"Two days?" he asked, his eyes wide with shock. I just nodded. "No wonder I'm starving."

A giggle escaped my lips as tears fell down my cheeks. "I'll get you something to eat." I got up and he grabbed my hand. I looked back to see fear in his eyes.

"Please don't go," he whispered.

I nodded and sat back down, this time on the edge of my bed. I rubbed his arm. "You do need to eat though."

"I know, but I don't want you to go." He looked so weak and scared I couldn't leave him.

"Okay, Trent. I won't go." I smiled at him and held his hand.

"Have you really been up for two days keeping an eye on me?" He looked t me with one eyebrow qurked.

"Of course I did." I caressed his unbruised cheek. "I had to make sure you were okay."

"You mean you were making sure I would stay alive?"

"Yes that's exactly what I mean."

He smiled at me smugly then his eyes started to close slowly.

"Trent?" I could hear the panic in my own voice.

His eyes opened again and he smiled at me. "Don't worry, Ellie. I'm just a little whipped out is all."

"While you rest I'll make you some food. Okay?"

"Fine. But only because you won't take no for an answer." He smirked at me and I giggled.

"You're right. I won't." I pecked his lips and smiled at him. he grabbed my shoulder and pulled my lips to his and he kissed me passionately. One of his hands tangled in my hair and one of them was on my hip. He pulled me closer deepening the kiss and holding me close. I felt tears sting the backs of my eyes and I pulled away slightly breathless. I leaned my forehead on his and looked into his eyes. "I never thought we would be able to do that again."

He whipped my eyes and smiled at me. "Neither did I."

He pulled me into another kiss. His thumb caressed my cheek and his other hand rubbed my back soothingly. Then our noses bumped and he winced in pain.

"Oh, I'm so sorry!"

"It's okay, Ellie. I'm fine." He gingerly touched the side of his nose and winced again. "But could you get me a towel?"

"Yeah. There are some hand towels in the bathroom." I quickly went into the bathroom and grabbed a hand towel. As soon as I had it in my hand I heard Trent yell in pain. I felt my heart drop and fear course through my veins. I ran back into the room to see fresh blood covering Trents hands face and chest. I ran over to him and frantically asked "What happened? Why are you bleeding?"

Before he Saud anything he tool the towel and held it to his nose. "I had to fix my nose. It would have healed funny if I didn't reset it properly."

I ran to the bathroom again and grabbed a cloth. I got it a damp ran back to my room and started whipping the blood from Trent's body

"So why am I dressed in only my boxers and not covered in blood?" He smirked at me and I felt my face turn bright red.

"I had to take your bloody clothes off to get washed and I cleaned the blood off of you so your injuries wouldn't look so scary." I looked away from him shyly.

He pulled me closer and hugged me. "Thanks, Ellie."

"You're welcome." I yawned and shook my head trying to wake up a little.

"Ellie, you're tired. Come lay with me." Trent opened his arms so I could cuddle into him but I didn't.

"I have to get you something to eat and u really don't want to have to wash your blood out of my hair." I giggled and kisses the top of his head before getting up.

"Okt I get the blood thing but you're going to burn yourself if you try to cook."

"I know. That's why I'm not cooking." I smiled at him and walked out of the room. I went to the kitchen and started making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches then I used a cookie cutter to make them into hearts just like Trent had done for me. Then I brought them up to him with a large glass of milk. "Here you go." I smiled as I handed him the plate of heart shaped sandwiches.

"Did I ever tell you that you're adorable?"

"Yes. Every time I got mad at you when we were kids."

"Oh, yeah." He chuckled at the recollection. "You really were though."

I rolled my eyes and smiled at him. "Just eat."

He smirked and started to devour the sandwiches. As soon as he was finished he chugged the milk and burped. I giggled and moved the plate and cup to my dresser.

"Ellie," he said with love in his voice. "Come cuddle with me."

"Gladly," I said with a yawn. I crawled into bed with him and pressed my back to his front.

"I love you," Trent whispered in my ear and pulled ne close.

"I love you, too," I whispered back the drifted off into a dreamless sleep
