Trent and I went back into the house laughing and holding hands. When we walked into the kitchen my mom and my grandmother were smiling at us. I blush and smile shyly.
"Did you two enjoy your lunch?" my mother asked.
Trent squeezes my hand and says "Yes we did. Very much so."
"That's good," grandma says. "But we need to take Ellie for a while."
"Yes ma'am." He leans down and plants a soft kiss on my cheek making be blush. "I'll see you later, Ellie belly."
I stick my tongue out at him and giggle. "Okay Little T." I laughed and hugged him.
"Hey, I'm not that little anymore," he laughed and hugged me back.
He left and I turned to my mom and grandma. "So what's on the agenda for today?" I asked
"Well, lets start with what happened last night," my grandmother said.
"Yeah," chimed in my mother. "What happened to you?"
"I got this really intense feeling and I guess it overwhelmed me," I said. "It happened earlier today too."
"What?" asked my mom. "When?"
"When I was in the woods wit h Trent," I explained. "I almost blacked out again."
"What triggered it?" my grandmother asked.
I blushed remembering. "He told me he loved me," I whispered.
They both gapped at me.
"After I told him I loved him," I said just as quietly.
"I forbid you to see him again Ella," my mother said.
I felt my heart shatter into a million pieces. "But why?" I felt the tears stinging my eyes.
"You just can't Ella!" she yelled.
"I don't see why I can't see him!" I yelled back.
"Because I said so! That's final!" she yelled again.
I ran out the back door and down the trail. The tears spilled from my eyes and I couldn't see where I was going. I ran into something and fell on my butt.
"Ouch," I mumbled. I stood up and rubbed my butt.
"Ellie belly?" I looked up and saw Trent.
"Trent!" I hugged him tightly and sobbed into his chest.
"Ellie?" he sounded worried. "What's wrong?"
I wiped my tears and looked up at him. "Nothing." I smile up at him.
"Ellie?" he blushes. "Can I..."
"Can you what?"
"Never mind. It was stupid" he rubbed the back if his head and looked away from me.
"Trent?" He looked back at me. "Yes you can."
His eyes lit up like a tree at Christmas time. "You mean it, Ellie?"
I nodded and he smiled warmly. He held my chin between his thumb and forefinger and leaned in. As he did I closed my eyes.
