Trent and I left the woods hand in hand and we noticed there was a picnic set up in the back yard. There was a note, Trent read it out loud. "We set this up so you two could spend some time together for lunch. Enjoy! Love mom and grandma."

Trent and I laughed together. He sat down and pulled me into his lap. I blushed and bit my lip.

"Does this make you uncomfortable?" he asked.

"No," I giggled. "I'm very comfortable actually." I leaned into him and smiled happily.

Trent reached into the picnic basket and took out the fruit and sandwiches that were in there. He took a strawberry and held it to my lips. I opened my mouth and took a bite and giggled. He ate the other half the strawberry and wrapped his arms around me.

"Did you mean what you said in the woods?" Trent asked me leaning into my back. "That you love me."

"Of course I did," I said feeling a little hurt he didn't believe me. "I have always loved you, Trent. Since we were kids."

"Really?" I couldn't see his face but he sounded happy.

I smiled and touched his hands around me. "Really. You were always there for me and made me feel safe and loved." I got off him and turned around. looking deeply into his green eyes I said "You will forever be my best friend and first love."

He pulled me back into his arms and kissed the top of my head. "If you made me any happier I think I would explode." He laughed and played with my hair.

"Then I would be sad," I said looking up at him sadly.

He kissed my noes and said "And I would do all that I can to make you happy again."

I smiled and leaned into him. "I am so happy I have you, Trent."

"I'm happy I have you too, Ellie." He held me close and we finished out picnic lunch.
