"So auditions for the musical begin this afternoon. Who's audition?" Will asks the group.
Half the group put their hands up. The other half awkwardly look around.
"If you don't get a lead, you can be a part of the dancers and that." Artie says, being the co-director with Will.
"I just have a feeling I shall be Maria." Rachel says.
"And I'm auditioning for Tony so yay." Blaine says and hi-fives Rachel.
"Rach, I'm auditioning for Maria." Mercedes says.
"Well, may the best woman win." Rachel says.
"And that shall be me." Mercedes says.

Some of the Glee Club sat in the auditorium as the auditions began. Rachel is first. Finn stands on the side lines to support her. He gives her a smile when she looks at him for support. She then smiles at the directors.
"I am Rachel Barbra Berry, I am auditioning for the role of Maria and I will be singing To Love You More by Celine Dion." Rachel says with a smile.
Will nods at Rachel. The band start to play the song and Rachel sings.

Will, Artie and members of the Glee Club sitting in the seats clap for Rachel with the occasional wolf whistle. Rachel bows and exits the stage to enter Finn's waiting arms.
On the other side of the wings, Mercedes is getting words of wisdom from Sam.
"You can do this, Cedes." Sam says and kisses Mercedes.
Mercedes takes a deep breath then walks onto the stage.
"I am Mercedes Jones, I'm auditioning for the role of Maria and I will be performing I Will Always Love You by Whitney Houston. Rest in peace Whitney." Mercedes says.
Artie gives Mercedes the nod, the band start to play and Mercedes begins to perform.

Will, Artie and the Glee Club clap for Mercedes. Mercedes smiles at everyone then exits the stage.
"I swear they cheered louder for you than they did for Rachel." Sam says to Mercedes as she hugs.
"I hope so." Mercedes says.
Sam releases her and they look over Rachel and Finn on the other side. Rachel's kind of glaring at Mercedes while Finn's just awkwardly standing there with his goofy grin.

Jake releases that Marley isn't in the auditorium with everyone else after Rachel performed. He rushes out of the auditorium and finds Marley in the choir room alone. She has members of the band with her and then she begins to perform.
[Marley:]
Saying I love you
Is not the words
I want to hear from you
Jake sneaks into the choir room and picks up a guitar to join with the band. Marley's a bit shocked but goes along with it.

Not to say, but if you only knew
How easy it would be to show me how you feel
Jake tells the band about how they should change the song up a bit after Marley sings the chorus.

The band continue to play the tune of the song then Jake takes over with just his guitar.

The band exit the room quickly and Jake leans forward to kiss Marley. They kiss for a bit then Jake pulls away.
"Something's wrong. I know you well, Marls and something's up." Jake says.
"Nothing's wrong. I'm fine." Marley says.
"Please tell what's wrong," Jake grabs her hands gently, "I love you and I'll help you with what ever is wrong."
"I can't tell you." Marley mumbles, sounding like she's going to cry.
"Why not?" Jake asks.
"It's a secret and I promised myself I wouldn't tell anyone." Marley says, quietly. She begins to cry and rushes out of the room.
Jake stands there, sighing and then sits down on one of the chairs. He has to know what's wrong with her.

Mercedes and Rachel both walk up to the list of the cast for West Side Story the next day. Neither have talked to each other since before the auditions.
They glare at each other before looking at it properly.
Blaine Anderson as Tony
That's the first thing they see then they move their eyes down the list to see a note saying;
Maria has not been cast yet. Mercedes Jones and Rachel Berry have callbacks for tomorrow.
Mercedes and Rachel glare at each other then walk away quickly from each other down the hallway.
