Shadows Of My Heart

Cutters Remorse

A battered girl with a broken soul,

Standing on the edge of a cliff,

Looking out at the sea down below,

Surrounded by the screams of her parents fight,

She sits and cries as she remembers,

All the fights that she has witnessed,

The screams,

The violence,

All the tears that her father has caused,

She reaches behind her and grabs a pen and paper,

And starts to scribble all her thoughts and feelings down,

All her pain,

Her anger,

All gets written in the letter to her parents,

She finishes it with her name and a little rose,

Folds it and places it on the ground,

Crying slow tears as she decides what to do,

Whimpering as she makes up her mind,

She pulls out a knife and grips it tightly,

Bringing it towards her wrist,

She stabs the knife into her wrist,

And drags it up to her elbow,

She cries out at the pain it causes,

But enjoys the flow of emotions it causes,

Taking the knife in her other hand,

Then copies her actions from before on her unharmed arm,

Sitting there at the edge,

Cutting all her flesh she can reach,

Cutting and bleeding and cutting again,

Is her newly found routine,

The feeling of her life’s blood dripping,

Making her giggle as she feels it drip all the way down her arm,

Numbing her inner pain,

Taking it and letting it all go,

Laughing and smiling to the outside world,

Hiding her pain from everyone else,

Only letting herself know,

As she is he only one that needs to know,

She crawls closer to the edge of the cliff,

Laying on her back with her head over the edge hanging,

Looking at the sea below

As the waves crash,

The knife drags up her arm and over her shoulder,

Making a pathway all over her arms joining up to her shoulder,

Cutting her flesh away in the blades wake,

Letting all her pain seep out and onto the ground beneath,

In a fit of genius she cuts all over her stomach,

From her hips to her bust,

From one set of ribs to the other,

All covered in cuts bleeding,
