Don't You See

I give you a sorrow filled smile,

Followed by a lamenting laugh,

But you do not see any of it,

You see what you want to,

A girl that is happy,

A girl that is bright,

A girl that is as cheerful as a robin high above,

What you over look,

Is the pain in my eyes,

My silent begging to you for help,

I sit here and cry as I watch,

The liquid that gives me life fall to the floor,

It stains the ground a bright red,

And here I am passed out on my bed,

When I wake I am alone,

Just as I have always been,

I try to cry but I have cried them all,

So now all I can do is forget it all,

I clean myself up and look at my scars,

There are even a few that look like stars,

I put on my clothes for the day,

And off I go to be the girl,

That everyone knows.
