CHAPTER 1
I woke up in a state of confusion; I had no idea where I was. I struggled opening my eyes, they hurt too much. I had been crying in my sleep, heartbroken. My body felt stiff, I had to move. As I tried reaching out to lift myself from the thin mattress, my arms stayed in place.
Panic shot through me as I realized I couldn’t move. I forced my eyes open, taking in my surroundings. I was held in a small, dark room, no windows in sight. The only light which entered the room was from beneath the large metal door. I struggled with myself, trying to set myself free. It was a lost cause; I was trapped inside my own personal hell. I looked down to myself, seeing the reason for my imprisonment. I was trapped in a straightjacket.
I cried out in agony, wanting to be set free. I didn’t belong here; I wanted to go home to my family. Moments passed when a dark figure entered the room. I fell silent at once, staring wide eyed at the god in front of me. He must have been the most beautiful creature I had ever seen in my life. Even in my state of panic, I was able to appreciate his beauty.
He was a tall, slender man, with jet black hair. His skin was as pale as snow, with a beautiful shimmer. He had the fullest lips I had ever seen on a man, with a natural shade of red. He had a strong jaw, absolute manly features. His eyes were frightening though; even in the dim light could I see the shimmer of crimson. They were alert and anxious, though it portrayed kindness and sincerity.
He approached me slowly, defensively, probably not wanting to frighten me. I was frightened though, my instincts told me I had to get away from this beauty. He squint his eyes, unsure whether he should approach or retreat. A grin spread across his face when he saw the reluctance in my eyes. Was he pleased that I was frightened?
“Alice…?’ he asked hesitantly.
I wanted to cry out for him to saveme, to release me from my hell. I wanted to go home to my loved ones, I wanted to be free. But I couldn’t find my tongue, he’s appearance left me speechless. I stared at him for long moments, not once shifting my eyes from him.
“Can you hear me Alice?” he asked. I nodded slightly, unable to make any other movement.
“Please…” I said, looking down at my trapped body.
A grin spread across his face as he saw the desperation in my eyes. He knew I wanted to be set free, he knew I felt trapped.
“I will set you free Alice, but you must promise not to try anything silly.” he said.
“I promise.” I said too eagerly.
He laughed slightly at my eagerness, but with no delay. He literally glided towards me, and I stared at him dumb folded. Never had I ever seen a man walk so elegantly, as though he was floating on air. He unstrapped the contraption quickly, helping me sit up. The first thought that came to mind was to run, to escape this prison, but before I could react, I realized the large metal door was shut. There was no way out of here, I was doomed.
