Christine's POV

"Christie! Hurry up, we have to make it to your session!" My dad shouts from downstairs, and I groan. I roll off my bed, and grab my bag. I rush down the stairs, and slip on my shoes quickly.

"Matt lock the door!" I yell to my brother, and close the front door. I get into the car, and my dad throws me a cheeky grin.

"What's the grin for?" I question.

"Nothing." He hums a tune as he pulls out of our driveway.

I put on my seat belt, and roll my eyes. My hands grow clammy, and I realize I'm nervous.

My dad pats my back, and I give him a shit smile. I shake my head, and he laughs. I walk into the room, and close the door behind me.

The room was a pale white, and there were chairs in a circle, some empty, some occupied. I sit down, across from a girl with black hair, and red tips, her fringe covering her eyes. She was looking down, fiddling with her black sweater.

Next to her, was a boy with curly brown hair with a blue hoodie, leaned back in his chair, arms crossed.

Two seats away from him sat another guy, one with dark brown hair, an expressionless face, and a black and blue flannel. Another empty seat, and then me.

3 seats away is a girl on her phone, with dirty blonde hair in a pink sweater. She was giggling at something on her phone.

Probably texting her boyfriend.

Someone clears their throat, and I look up. There was a fucking cute guy with a dark brown quiff, a lip ring, and tattoos.

Everywhere.

I bit my lip, pulling the sleeves of my sweater down. He sits down, and grins.

"I'm Jesse. I'm here to talk to all of you- oh fuck it, I'm saying what I want." He grins, and I find myself smiling too.

"Here, we won't judge you. Because I'm sure we've all been through shit. So here, don't fucking judge, and if you are gonna, there's the door. Am I clear?"

We all nod, and he gestures to the red hair tips girl. "Introduce yourself?"

She looks up, and manages a weak smile. "I'm Serenity, and m-my brother wanted me to come here to talk about how I f-feel."

The curly haired, blue sweater boy waved at all of us. "I'm Francis, uh, I'm actually bipolar so my mom was hoping this shit would help me."

The boy with the flannel stared blankly at Jesse. "I'm Dan. I have nothing really to say." He ends awkwardly. Jesse laughs to himself. Dan looks at me, and I blurt an 'oh' out.

"I'm Christine. But I go by Christie, or Chris. I have this abnormal fear, and it tends to cause me to have panic attacks, and it makes my anxiety worse." Jesse nods, and looks at the girl 3 seats away from me.

The blonde in the pink sweater had put her phone away when Jesse came into the room. She smiled at us, her smile almost creeping me out.

"I'm Maxine, but call me Max. My mom sent me here because she says I don't think about anything else or anyone else besides myself."

I blink as I process her words.

Why would she come here?

I shrug, and look at Jesse. His brows come together, and he shakes his head, throwing a smile on his face.

"Well, lets discuss some more, since we've all introduced ourselves already. Just say what's been on your mind. What's been bothering you. Lets start with.. Dan." He gestures to Dan, and we all turn to look at him.

Dan smiles awkwardly. "I have social anxiety, and I'm just really fucking awkward. I-I like this guy but I don't know..Its just weird. Most people know I'm gay, but does the guy even like me back?" He questions Jesse.

"Well, you'll never know if you never try." Jesse says. "Maybe you should tell him. Or maybe get a friend to ask him."

Dan laughs. "If I asked them, they would give it away. They can't help it." He shrugs, and turns away.

Jesse sighs, and rubs the back of his neck. "One day we'll talk more about this Dan. Max, wanna go next?"

"I think you're kinda hot." She blurts. I start to laugh, and so do the rest of us.

She blushes, and says, "Sorry. I-I don't really have anything to say."

Jesse still had an idiotic grin on his face, his body shaking with laughter. "I'm sorry, oh my god, this is too much. Francis, its your turn."

He was smiling hard, his dimples poking out. Francis's smile faded as he cleared his throat. "I.." He frowns, and I find myself doing the same.

I've only sat here with these people for so little time, yet I feel closer with them with most of my so called 'friends'.

"I h-hit my little brother this one time. And I couldn't control it. I just- I don't know. He was so scared, and you could see the fear in his eyes. I didn't mean to." he whispered, his eyes swimming with emotion.

I bit my lip, wanting to hug him.

Serenity pats his knee, and he slides his hand over hers. She laces their fingers together, and my eyes grow wide.

They're together?

Jesse glances at their hands, and looks up at Serenity. "Do you wanna go next?"

She shakes her head, "Maybe next time."

He looks at me, and smiles. "Chris?" I find myself heating up as he calls my name, and I nod.

"My fear? I-I mean, the fear of falling apart, th-the fear that one day I'll wake up and someone would take my place. I'm afraid somebody else might take my place."
