Christie's POV
I finished my cereal, putting it into the sink, and washing the bowl and spoon.
"Christine, you done? We leave in 5 minutes." My dad said, coming into the kitchen. He leaned against the door frame, un-tucking his hideous maroon shirt. He loosened his belt, and relaxed visibly.
I rolled my eyes. "Why do they make you wear that hideous shirt everyday? Don't you hate it?" I wipe my hands on my pants, turning the faucet off. I grabbed a red towel, wiping down water that spilled on the counter.
He laughs, "Of course I do. Please, if I had the choice, I'd go in my boxers to work."
I scrunch my nose up, pretending to gag. "Dad that's gross."
"You're gross, Chris." He retorts, folding his arms.
"Whatever. Ready to go? I'm done." My dad nods, turning and walking out the kitchen. I let out a shaky breath, and follow him. I grab my blue jacket off the sofa, and I yell at my brother to lock the door, slamming the door behind me.
I get into the car, and pull my seat belt on. He pulls out the driveway, and I watch as things grow smaller. The snow covered trees pass by, and my dad pulls into the parking lot of the therapy center. I stare at the center in front of me. It was a pretty big area.
He parks the car, and looks at me. "Need me to walk you in? Or are you good?"
I shake my head, taking my seat belt off. "I'm good. I'll call you when we're done."
"Alright. I love you."
"Love you too, dad." I get out, and walk inside. I unzip my jacket, and smile at the lady sitting behind the desk. She smiles back, and I walk to Jesse's room.
I'm greeted by the smell of hot chocolate, and Serenity.
"Christie! Hey!" She waves at me, and I wave back, smiling softly. I sit down, and Serenity leaves, going through a door in the back. What the heck?
I shrug it off, and look around the room for everyone else. Max was sitting next to Dan, and a seat away sat Francis. Serenity comes back with white mugs on a platter, with Jesse following close behind.
There was a grin plastered on Jesse's face, and he winked at me when he saw me staring. I find myself laughing, and winking back.
He sits beside me, and Serenity is handing the mugs out. I thank her, and find myself screaming inside when I see hot chocolate inside the cup.
I grin, and my patience is tested, as I wait for it to cool down. Serenity sits down next to me, and Francis moves from his seat. He sits on the right of Serenity, and from the corner of my eye, I see him hold her hand. I find myself shipping the two already, grinning.
"Alright you guys, hope you like this shit, it was Serenity's idea to make this." He takes a sip of his own hot chocolate, and spits it back into the mug.
"Shit, that's hot." I laugh, and lean back in my chair.
"You know what else is hot?" Max says, wiggling her brows up, making Dan laugh.
"Me?" Jesse asks, confusion evident on his face.
She laughs loudly, "No, me!" I found myself laughing, and Jesse flushed a dark shade of crimson, coughing, and sputtering out a mess of words. I found myself laughing harder, my grip on my mug tightening to prevent it from spilling.
We all laughed at how much the small situation made Jesse so uncomfortable. Eventually we all calm down, and he rolls his eyes.
"So, who wants to go first?" We all fall silent, and eye each other. Nobody wanted to go first, let alone at all. I lift the mug to my lips, drinking it slowly.
He sips on his drink, and licks his lips. "Well, I guess I'll go today. Next time, some one else has to go." He eyes us sternly, before breaking out in a grin.
"To be honest, I don't really know what to talk about. I was actually thinking that we could decorate this room a bit more? I mean, looks pretty naked to me." Jesse looked at us, seeking for approval.
I nodded. "Yeah, that sounds cool."
"I think so too." Dan mutters.
"Maybe we should paint the room?" Serenity offers, her eyes brightening a little.
"We'll figure it out." Francis says, leaning back in his chair.
Jesse smiles, and falls silent for a while, before speaking again. "I want to get a tattoo. Like, another one. They're my addiction, if you haven't noticed." He chuckles.
"What do you want to get?" I ask, drinking more of the hot chocolate. I've always wanted a tattoo, but I never settled on what to get, and where to get it.
Jesse laughs, giving me a look, "Don't laugh, but I wanna get an upside down illuminati sign."
Upside down illuminati.. Is that like, anti-illuminati?
"Well, according to LL Cool J, 'Illuminati want my mind, soul, and my body. Secret society, trying to keep they eye on me.' Basically meaning control. Control over me. There's this thing called the 'pyramid of manipulation'. The foundation is media, politics, religion, business, and shit in that category. I believe, that as they brainwash us, the more shit they throw at us, it moves up the pyramid, and illuminati is at the top. So, basically, and upside down illuminati is anti-illuminati. Meaning, you shouldn't let the media tell you what to think, and you should think for yourself." He finishes, throwing us an awkward grin.
I was speechless.
Wow.
Fucking wow.
