"Cas?! What happened?!"
"I...jumped out a window..."
Dean just gave him an incredulous look. "Two days. I was gone two days."
"Oh come on Deano," Gabe said. "We just got a little drunk. No big deal."
"You're underage."
"Eh."
Dean just sighed. They were at the Novak's house, the Winchester's having just come back from their road trip. Dean had wanted to go see Cas immediately, only to find his arm in a cast.
"How's Sam?" Gabriel asked quietly.
"He's remembering more," Dean said. "He thinks he's fourteen now."
"Well I guess that's..." Gabriel trailed off, looking at something behind Dean. Dean turned to see Sam standing in the doorway of the house.
"Oh Sam," Dean said. "You were supposed to stay in the car."
"Yeah no," Sam said. "Knowing you, you would take much longer than five minutes to check on your boyfriend."
Dean rolled his eyes and glanced over at Gabe who was staring at the floor.
"Gabriel," Sam said. Gabe looked up with wide eyes. "I'm...sorry for what I said in the hospital."
"It's okay Sammy, you weren't you," Gabe said softly. Sam smiled slightly, then glanced around the room.
"Dean I had to pick you up from a party here. You were drunk and miserable. And...I heard something important? I can't quite remember..."
"Wait," Dean said. "How much can you remember fully? If you can remember that, that wasn't too long ago."
"Everything until that day," Sam said. "I...I'm Sam Winchester, I'm fifteen, I'm friends with Jo, Kevin and Adam, I prank people almost as much as the Trickster does, got straight A's, and last I remember was dragging my drunken brother back from a party."
"That was a few weeks ago," Gabe said quietly. "Before me...but recent."
"But you said you couldn't remember the entire party," Dean said. "Something important?"
"Yeah, I don't know what it was."
"What about earlier that day?" Cas asked and Gabe nodded frantically. "Anything interesting?"
"No...it was just a normal school day."
"No it wasn't."
Everyone turned to look at Gabriel.
"Come on Sammy, please tell me you remember that."
"I'm sorry...I don't."
Cas looked sympathetically at his younger brother, while Dean gave a look of confusion.
"What is he missing?" Dean asked.
"The start of our relationship," Gabe muttered. "And the important thing was what escalated the war, it was what got him to continue pranking me."
"I pranked you?" Sam asked in surprise. "You're the Trickster. Why would I...?"
"Doesn't matter okay, you'll know when you remember."
Silence filled the room, which Dean broke awkwardly.
"Gabe you know how the situation is with the last few weeks. It's going to be hard."
"When was my life ever easy?" Gabe asked, standing. "I'll get through this. Besides, I have a plan." With that he walked out of the room.
"Sam you may want to prepare for the worse," Cas said. "Gabriel's plans consist of pranks. Always. You're going to get pranked."
