I came across another genre of story that I wouldn't normally read today. That genre is Historical Fiction. Now I do like history but reading it was never really something I thought I'd enjoy. Until now. The book is called "A Battle Of Heirs" and is based after the ransacking of Rome and King Arthur's death. After reading the first chapter I was already briefed on the background of the story and I've got to say, It's looking good.
Here is the description for the story:
After a Century since the ransacking of Rome and 35 years after the death of King Arthur, an Oligarchy has taken control of Camelot and Britannia. They are led by an old Briton Noble, Alden Ellwood. Britannia is at the brink of devastation and destruction at the hands of the Picts and Irish, so Alden comes up with a plan to bring in a new leader of Camelot. His master plan; to have the 'Heirs' of the knights of the Round Table or the people Arthur had trusted the most ,battle it out for the title. And may the best Man or Woman win....
So, as per usual I asked the author some questions. These were his replies:
What inspired you to write this book?
To be honest I never read game of thrones or even read a song of ice and fire but that's what gave me the idea of the story. But I heard the concept was "a battle of kings" so that's where I got one idea of inspiration. The other was when I watched the anime "Fate/Zero" the thing I liked was that there was no obvious main character hence no obvious good guy or bad guy. These 2 concepts interested me and slowly with those 2 bits of inspiration I developed the story line. I was also trying to aim my story to being an 8 way mind game between the Heirs rather than the usual good vs bad type of mood.
What made you interested in this genre?
Well I was always quite interested in history but one of the first Historical Fictions that got me into the genre was this series of novels called: "My Story".
Do you plan on writing an sequel to this book?
Yes. I have planned a sequel.
Why do you think reader's are interested in this genre of writing?
Well my story is also in the genre of Action and Historic fiction while Historical Fiction isn't a very favored genre of Wattpad , Action is a bit of an eye catching concept.
Who would you recommend this book to?
I would definitely recommend this book to people interested in Arthurian legend or if you're into Historical Fiction set in the early dark ages. Or just looking for some plot driven action scenes.
