~COPYRIGHT 2013~We had one ride in the early morning and that was it. We still had to be ready in case anyone wanted to ride later but it was freezing outside so we went into the ski lodge. There was one family with three children talking to all of the workers. We all joined in and spoke to them for a while. Then they decided they were going to go on a snowmobile ride before they left.
They suited up and Eric and Russ went outside with them. I longed to be out there with them.
"Hey, do you wanna go?" Trevor asked. "Jackson said we could go if we wanted. I even think he's considering it."
"Really?" I asked.
"Sure."
"Of course I wanna go!" I exclaimed, jumping out of my seat.
He laughed and the three of us ran outside to join.
"You riding alone or with someone?" he asked me, putting on a helmet.
"Um...would you hate me if I asked to ride with you? I love to ride, but I like to know the trails before I go out."
"Ugh," he rolled his eyes, teasing me. "Do you have to?"
"Yes..." I sighed dramatically.
"Alright, get on."
I hopped on the back and he joined, pulling the start. We waited for Eric and Russ to check on everyone and then we were off. I snuggled my helmeted head into Trevor's back and held on for the ride. It felt nice being so close to him. I looked up and watched as we followed the guides around the woods.
About half an hour in, we were heading back to the ranch. But Trevor had other ideas. Everyone else made a left turn while we made a right.
I gasped and hit his back, screaming, "What're you doing?"
"Don't worry, I know these woods like the back of my hand," he yelled over the roar of the engine.
I had to trust him. I had no choice anyways. I was just a passenger.
After another few minutes, we slowed down and finally came to a stop. In front of us was the lake. It was completely covered with snow, but it was a beautiful view. We both took off our helmets and laid them on the seat of the snowmobile. He didn't say a thing as he walked towards the small gazebo that was sitting right by the snow covered water. I decided that it would be best to follow him.
"Are you sure we're supposed to be here?" I asked.
He shrugged. "I come out here all the time during the week. I've never gotten in trouble during the three years I've worked here. The bosses are pretty cool."
"Is this like your secret place?"
"Nah, not really. I mean, I'm the only one who comes out here, but it's not a big deal."
"So why did you bring me out here?"
"Because I had no choice," he teased. "You chose to go on my freaking snowmobile and I wanted some alone time."
"I'll go back and sit on the snowmobile if you want me to. I mean, if you want some time alone that is..."
"Whatever you wanna do babe. You're a grown woman," he laughed.
I got up and began to walk back.
"You can stay, you know. I was just kidding," he called.
I smiled to myself and joined him once again.
"So this is what a cowboy does in his spare time, eh?" I giggled.
"Can't a cowboy have alone time? All cowboys are regular people."
"And most cowboys are married with like five children."
"Hey, whoa, whoa, I'm only 24. I'd rather live my life for a while before...maybe settling down. I highly doubt I'll ever do that though."
I sighed and looked out at the lake. "You're impossible to get through to."
"And you're beautiful," he complimented.
I turned my head to look at him and he smiled, his eyes lighting up a bit. He swooped forward and claimed my lips in a quick kiss, pulling away quickly and awkwardly. We didn't say a word.
"Uh...we should...uh...get back," he stuttered, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Yeah, we should," I agreed quietly.
Without a word, we made it back to the snowmobile, put our helmets on and mounted. The ride back to the lodge was uncomfortable. I didn't even put my arms around him this time for support. I used the handles by the seat.
He parked and I quickly jumped off, putting the helmet back on the shelf and running into the ski lodge. Every single one of the workers seemed to be smirking at me as I poured myself some coffee. Even Jackson was! And when Trevor walked in, they all guffawed.
"What's so funny?" I wondered.
"Where did you two run off to?" Eric teased, his eyes twinkling with mischief.
Trevor slapped the back of his head. "I decided to bring her to that spot I usually go to. It would've been better if I was by myself, but she insisted on riding with me."
"You were the one who agreed to it!" I defended myself. "You even told me it was okay that I was there!"
"Who's to say I wasn't lying?" he smirked.
Russ and Eric snickered. I narrowed my eyes. He was putting on a show for these guys. What a jerk!
"And who's to say you aren't an asshole?" I responded.
The guys responded with an echoing chorus of ooo's. That's right Trevor! I can play dirty too! You don't want to mess with me!
In the back of my mind though, I still had that question. Why was he trying to hide our relationship? Did he not want everyone to know? Is there something wrong with me? I guess we'll just have a private relationship for now. I mean, Liyanna is going to be the first to find out once she sees us kissing and all. How will she react? How will Trevor react to her finding out? Oh god, I'm a mess. I need to stop thinking so deeply into this. Right now, I'll just let him have his fun. But when we get back to the cabin tonight, he's going to get an ass reaming.
