Chapter Nine:
You're Maya Hart

Ten weeks pregnant
I'm about ten weeks along now and the only people that know are Riley, Farkle, Lucas, and Josh.
I stayed up late last night doing some research and apparently I'm long over-due for a doctor's appointment that does more than just confirming the spawn of myself forming inside my body.

I'm going to start showing eventually and who knows what could go wrong if someone doesn't do a few occasional evaluations, which means it's time to tell my mother. I decided to go to Riley's today and plan a sit down with my mom and the Matthews, seeing as they're practically my parents as well. I'm not even close to ready but for the baby's sake, I have to do this.
So I texted Riley and told her about it and she agreed and said she would speak to them and we could make plans for dinner.

One week later
Dinner with my mom and the Matthews is taking place tonight so I texted my mom regardless of how anxious I was already feeling.

Me: Mom, I need to talk to you and Mr. and Mrs. Matthews. We're going over there for dinner tonight.\

Mom: I'm getting off at seven, I'll head over after work. Is everything okay?

Me: Just don't be late, okay? It's important. Love you.

Mom: Love you too baby girl. See you tonight.

7:13 PM
It's passed seven and I'm currently at Riley's house. My mom should be here any minute and I feel like I'm gonna have a heart attack or lose consciousness and collapse. I was sitting on the couch and I got nauseous again, only this time I'm not sure if it was because I was nervous or pregnant or both, but regardless, I ran to the bathroom as fast as I could.

I was rinsing my mouth after I puked and someone knocked on the door and then opened it; Josh.

"Your mom is here ... are you sure you're ready to do this?"  He had a look of concern on his face and I looked down at the ground.

"I don't have a choice." I mumbled, "But Josh, I'm so scared. What if they hate me?"
I managed to hold back the tears.

"They won't hate you, Maya. Everyone has their problems, yours just happened to come with a little miracle." He said placing his hand on my stomach and smiling. I smiled back.

"We should get out there," he grabbed my face, forcing me to look at him as he smiled, "you can do this. You're Maya Hart. You're strong, brave, and beautiful and they love you enough to get passed this." He grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the bathroom.
I thought about running but I knew that wouldn't work. Josh did give me a little boost of confidence but I'm still terrified.

"Found her!" he laughed as we entered into the living room and my mom greeted me with a smile and a hug.

"Hey, baby girl." My mom welcomed me, bringing me in for a hug.

"Um so before we eat, I want to talk to you guys," Riley sat next to me, holding my hand on one side while Josh sat on the other side with his hand placed upon my knee for comfort,

"You might be mad at first. But I'm hoping you'll find it within yourselves to remember that and move passed this; remember I'm still the same girl you guys have raised me to be regardless and that I'm a person and I do have problems, and you may find this one but I think that if you look at it in the right perspective, you'll see the good in it." I looked at Josh and half-smiled after taking his advice.

The three of them all exchanged looks and then turned to me with confusion roaming their faces as they waited for me to further explain. I looked down, took a deep breath and thought about what Josh said, "You can do this. You're Maya Hart. You're strong, brave and beautiful. And they love you enough to forgive you for one mistake."

I looked up at the three confused and concerned looking, parents and I told them what they needed to hear.

"Mom ... Mr. and Mrs. Matthews ... I am pregnant."
