Brian's POV
Leena walked in holding an envelope. "What do you have there?" I asked as she sat down next to me.
"The recommendation letter you requested Hobbs to write for Emma," Leena smiled.
"A recommendation letter? For what?" Emma asked. "Why now?"
"Emma, I wasn't going to be able to get you into the FBI," I smiled. "But Agent Hobbs can. I made him write you a letter so you could keep it till you're ready to apply."
"Thank you," Emma smiled. "Mom, Dad, you've both have done so much for me." I looked at Leena and smiled. Dom was with Jack in the kitchen. "I just wanted to say that even though I'm a pain, we all love each other unconditionally."
"We're family," I smiled. "That's what family's for."
"Well, I know that our family, excuse my language, had gone through hell and back," Emma replied as she stood up with Adam. "I know you and Mom, believe it or not, have risked your life for each other at least one or twice."
"Even more than that," Leena nodded.
"So, I thought this song was a perfect pick that I will be singing with Adam on the next live show," Emma smiled. "So I do hope you enjoy it."
Emma played the song off her phone. "Ended up on a crossroad. Try to figure out which way to go," Adam sang. "It's like you're stuck on a treadmill, running in the same place." Emma smiled at Leena and I. "You got your hazard lights on now. Hoping that somebody would slow down. Praying for a miracle, who'll show you grace?"
"Had a couple dollars and a quarter tank of gas with a long journey ahead," Emma sang with such passion. "Seen a truck pull over. God sent an angel to help you out. He gave you direction, showed you how to read a map for that long journey ahead. Said it ain't never over. Oh, even in the midst of doubt."
"Life is worth living, ou ou ou ou. Life is worth living, so live another day," Emma and Adam sang. "The meaning of forgiveness: people make mistakes, doesn't mean you have to give in. Life is worth living again."
Emma smiled at Adam. "Relationship on a ski slope. Avalanche comin' down slow. Do we have enough time to salvage this love?" Emma sang as she closed her eyes. "Feels like a blizzard in April. 'Cause my heart is just that cold. Skating on thin ice, but it's strong enough to hold us up."
"Seen her scream and holler. Put us both on blast, tearing each other down," Adam sang. "When I thought it was over, God sent an angel to help us out, yeah. He gave us direction, showed us how to make it last for that long journey ahead. Said it ain't ever over. No, even in the midst of doubt."
"Life is worth living, ou ou ou ou. Life is worth living, so live another day," Emma and Adam sang. "The meaning of forgiveness: people make mistakes, doesn't mean you have to give in. Life is worth living again."
"Oh whoa oh," Adam harmonized.
"Life is worth living again," Emma smiled as the song ended.
"That is a beautiful song," Leena smiled as she gave Emma a hug. "And surely does explain most of what happened in this family."
"Life is going to go on," Dom smiled walking in holding Jack. "Family is still family no matter what."
"We always will have each others back and won't turn on each other," Leena smiled.
"Now this is my life," I smiled. "This life right here, this life is worth living."A/N: the end of this story. New story coming soon. Xoxo happy reading ~Alexis
