Brian's POV
"Let's get to Dom," I nodded. Tej and Rome followed Letty to Dom's crash site. "Oh man."
We saw Dom get out of the car as we got out of ours. "Looks like our demon love child worked," Tej nodded.
"That's one way down a mountain," I nodded. "Where's Ramsey?"
"Still in there," Dom sighed. We piled up and went to a place to just sit. We waited for Ramsey to wake up. "Let me know."
"Hello Kitty's awake," Letty spoke up.
"She don't look like a hacker to me," Rome stated.
"Oh yeah?" Tej asked. "And what do hackers look like?"
"They don't supposed to look like that," Rome stated. "I'm just saying, like, you know how they normally wear them little, where's glasses that's all crookes, and pimples all over their face from drinking soda?" I looked at Leena. "I mean, trust me, with a body like that, you ain't gonna park it behind a computer."
"How are you feeling?" I asked Ramsey. "Did you hit your head?" Ramsey nodded. "Feeling nauseous? Ears ringing? No?"
"Where's my shoe?" Ramsey asked.
"Oh, it flew off when you crashed," I replied. "If you start experiencing any of those things, let me know, okay?"
"I don't know whether to thank you for rescuing me or kick your ass for throwing me off a cliff," Ramsey sighed.
"Thank us or kick our ass, huh?" Dom asked. "How about you tell us where that device is?"
"I mailed it to a friend," Ramsey replied. "In Abu Dhabi."
"That was pretty easy," Leena replied. "That other team would've tortured you for that information."
"I didn't trust them," Ramsey instantly replied. "I trust you."
"Now, why would you trust us?" Letty asked. "You barely know us."
"I know enough," Ramsey smiled. She pointed at me, "Ex-cop. Military, something like that. The way you took out them guys shows training." She pointed at Tej, "Tech guy, offended by the hacker remark, naturally." She pointed at Dom, "Alpha." She pointed at Letty, "Mrs. Alpha." She pointed at Emma, "Rookie but strong enough to know how to run with the team." She pointed at Leena, "Knows a little bit of everything but her most strong suit is keeping everyone in check." She pointed at Rome, "Joker."
"Wrong," Rome nodded and stood up. "Double alpha. Man candy. You know what I'm saying?"
"Man, sit your candy ass down," Tej replied.
"The disrespect is real around here," Rome sighed as he sat down.
"Life is binary," Ramsey spoke. "Zeroes and ones. Only two things keep a group like this together." We looked at her. "Fear or loyalty. And I don't see a drop of fear among you guys."
"Very impressive," Tej smiled. "Just one thing. They not married."
"She's so off, it's crazy," Rome disagreed. "You just gonna roll with it?" I looked at Rome. "You're telling me there can't be a double alpha in one group?"
"Why would the alpha stay in a plane instead of reversing out?" Emma asked. "An alpha leads, not stay behind."
"You work for U.S. Government?" Ramsey asked.
"We got similar interests," Dom nodded. "Tej, call it in. We're going to the Middle East!" We got into our cars and drove to the airport to get on a plane. Everyone was asleep except for Dom and I. I took off my hoodie and put it around Emma. Leena would've wanted it that way. "Hey Brian."
"It was pretty wild on that mountain, huh?" I asked.
"No, it was too close," Dom responded. "But we got the job done."
"You now what the crazy thing is, is..."
"You miss the bullets," Dom finished my sentence.
I chuckled. "Yeah, that's messed up, huh?" I asked.
"Brian, I've seen you jump from trains, dive from planes," Dom nodded. "Hell, I saw your courage the day I met you."
"Right," I sighed.
"Hey," Leena walked over to us. "Still awake?"
"Yeah," I nodded as Leena put her arms around me. I put my left arm around her and kissed her forehead. "Just up with Dom."
"Want to know the bravest thing I ever saw you do?" Dom asked. I looked at Dom. "Be a good man to Leena. Being a great father to my neice and nephew, Emma and Jack." Leena laid her head on me. "Everyone's looking for the thrill, but what's real is family. Your family." We looked over at Emma. "Hold on to that, Brian."
"I'm never letting go," I nodded. We landed and got ourselves five cars: Dom and Ramsey, Letty, Leena and I, Emma and Rome, and Tej. "At least Emma's driving and not Rome." Leena chuckled. We found a parking spot. Only Dom would roll up in a Charger while the rest of us chose imports. We got out of our cars. Brian and I sat under a tent. "So, what do you think about here?"
"I'm in a white sundress," Leena smiled. "And I'm still hot."
"Okay," I nodded. We joined the team and Ramsey with a guy named Safar. "What's up?"
"I sold it to a Jordanian prince living up there," Safar pointed. "Trust fund billionaire. Said he wanted to use it for his supercar."
"Now, see?" Rome nodded. "This, I like. Billionaire, supercar..."
"What makes it so super?" Ramsey asked.
"242 miles per hour, top speed," Safar replied. "And it's bulletproof."
"Am I the only one aroused right now?" Rome asked.
"Only you, Rome," I nodded.
"Where does he keep it?" Emma asked.
"In his penthouse," Safar replied. "Tower number one."
"Now, why in the hell would he keep his car in his penthouse?" Tej asked.
"He's a billionaire, my friend," Safar replied. "He can do whatever he wants." I sighed. "Now, tomorrow happens to be the longest day of the year. The prince wants to celebrate it and host a party tomorrow afternoon."
"So you can get us up there, right?" I asked.
"Sure," Safar responded. "But, uh, not dressed like that."
"Well, it looks like we have some shopping to do," Emma smiled. "Let's go."
"Stop," Leena replied. "You gotta get an evening gown. Not red or black because I'm sure Letty and Ramsey got those colors locked." Emma looked at Leena. "And nothing exposing."
"Absolutely not," I replied. "But gold is a good color."
"The plan," Leena smiled. "Brian, Dom, and I will find the car. Tej and Ramsey will keep an eye on surveillance meaning someone will have to cut the wire. Letty and Emma will take care of that."
"Leaving Rome to create a distraction," I smiled. "You got this, Rome."
