"I heard you made a new friend, girls." says my dad, as he took a bite out of McDonald's Big Mac.

"We sure did. And he was cute." says Colette, smiling to herself.

"What about Oliver?" I asked.

"Oliver is 10x more cuter than him." she says.

"Girls, you and your cute guy talk." says mom, shaking her head but smiling.

"Just be careful. Who knows if he could be a 'different' guy." says dad.

"I'm sure Trevor isn't a bad guy." she says.

"He's really nice." I said.

"That's what all teenage guys are like at first." says dad.

"Oh dad. You're just jealous." says Colette.

"I just want to protect my two favorite little girls." he says, fake whimpering.

Suddenly, there was a loud creak, coming from upstairs.

Colette flinched to it and stared at the ceiling, "Are you sure this house isn't haunted?"

"Haha, don't worry, Lettie. This house is built two years ago. There's no way it's haunted." says dad, chuckling.

Then, the phone suddenly rings.

"Ooh, maybe the ghost is calling us." dad jokes.

"Dad! Shut up!" she said, throwing a fry at him, "You know how much I hate ghosts!"

Mom walks over to the counter and answers the phone, "Hello?"

"I can't wait for our first day at Orewood though." says Colette, readjusting herself in her seat.

"I know I'm not." I said.

"Why not? A brand new day, a brand new school with brand new friends." she says.

"I'm not a socialable person, okay? I'm not gonna make new friends easily." I said.

"What about Trevor? Isn't he your friend too?" she asks.

"Neighbor. Not friends." I corrected.

"Whatever you say..." she says in a singing voice.

"Alright, thank you very much!" I heard mom say and hung up. She returns back to her seat and turns to me and Colette, "That was the principal, girls. He said he's very excited to have two new students."

"Oh hoorah." I said, sarcastically.

"It's gonna be a great school, Shay. Don't worry." says mom, giving me a reassuring smile.

Yah right.

The next day was a Sunday. Tomorrow is our first day and the start of our first week at Orewood.

Colette was already excited, packed up and ready to go while I'm still packing, lazily and groaning. I want to move back to New York now.

"Shay! There's a visitor for you!" I heard mom shout from downstairs. I sat up on my bed and yawned.

A visitor? That's such a joke.

"Be right there..." I said, tiredly.

I then stretched out my arms and headed downstairs. I stopped halfway down the hall and looked down at myself. New York Yankees sweatpants and a tank top...whatever. As long as it's not embarassing.

I continued walking and then downstairs. As soon as I reached the last step, I heard mom talking to a familiar voice. Sounds a lot like...Trevor?

I walked towards the front door and indeed, I saw Trevor.
