I forced my eyes to open, light immediately hitting them, I strained against the radiance of it. I slammed them back shut, groaning. I tried to move, but I couldn't, no matter how persistent I tried. I was tired. All I knew for sure was I needed water. I squinted my eyes, trying to adjust to the blinding light. "She's awake!" Dean yelled, rushing towards me. "How are you feeling?" His asked gently. I looked him over, his normally perfect brown hair was ruffled and messy. He had bloodshot eyes, slightly pale face. I tried to speak, but was still unable to do so.

He seemed to understand as he picked up a cold glass of water. I gauged it down, no matter how much water seemed to drip down my chin as I finished it within seconds. "More," I croaked. He nodded, dashing out the room. Dean, not looking where he was going, absent mindedly crashed into Castiel who popped in the room, out of nowhere. Castiel furrowed his eyebrows, as Dean rushed past him.

Castiel made his way towards me, watching me with sympathy. "I'm sorry we didn't come to you sooner," he apologized. I brushed it off, "It wasn't-" I got cut off by a coughing fit. "You're fault," I finished raspily. His blue eyes gazed into mine, "You thought you were doing what was right."

"I was so damn stupid," I mustered, a tear rolling down my cheek. "You were stupid for the right reasons," he reasoned. I smiled ever so slightly, "Yeah, like that matters." I shrugged in defeat. "Sometimes that's all that matters," he declared softly, as if in deep thought. Dean barged in, rushing to my side. I eagerly downed another cup of ice cold water. "Thank you," I smiled up at my father. He returned the gesture, "I'm sorry-" I shushed him with just a glare of my eyes. "I went over this with Castiel already, no need to apologize. It was my fault, Dean. I should've listened to you," I brushed off, forcing tears down as my throat clenched.

He watched me carefully, not making a move. "And because of my mistake, I have made a decision." I cleared my throat. Before I could continue, Sam barged in, puppy eyes wide. "Are you alright?" He demanded, looking me up and down as I sat on the bed. I strained a smile, "Yeah," I lied swiftly. He saw through it as he furrowed his eyebrows sympathetically. Sam opened his arms slightly, before awkwardly putting them back down with a curt nod.

I rolled my eyes at his foolishness. I enveloped him in a hug, comforted by his familiar cologne. "You need some rest," Sam urged as I broke away. "I'm good," I replied with an eyeroll. Despite my statement, I yawned as he grinned. "Doesn't seem that way," he countered. "Yawning doesn't indicate that I am tired, only that I need more oxygen to my brain," I remarked sassily. "Smart ass," Dean muttered.

I laughed, and boy did it feel good. It was real, not forced. Suddenly, I stopped, "How long was I their?" Silence overtook, Castiel piping in. "Almost two weeks," I gaped at the statement. Two weeks? It wouldn't have been that long. "I'm just glad we are all together, we can work hard to figure out everything we need. Plus, we need all the help we can get," Sam smiled as it reached his eyes. I gulped, not knowing how to tell them I thought otherwise. Wouldn't it be best if I went a separate way? I didn't want them to get involved in anything, but I guess it was too late for that.

As if sensing my distrust, Sam spoke up, "Maybe we could let Essence get some rest, and than we can do something fun before getting to work?" Dean looked at him in disbelief. "You? Samuel Dean Winchester is requesting to choose fun over work?" He simply shrugged. "What will we do?" He suddenly piqued my interest. I couldn't leave now, not when they not only counted on me, but I counted on them. Maybe Sam had a point, we are better off together.
