The days passed and i had to go to school again. Maya had came the day after i was moved, and comforted me and auggie by letting us use her netflix and brought over all the junk food i wasnt allowed to eat.
Mary Anne and Auggie were bouncing off the walls.
But the day i came back everyone stared at me like i was diseased
Balloons were in my locker when i opened it. And a note was on top.
Im sorry. But not as sorry as youll soon be.
"The girl. Its her again. " i relized
"What?" Maya said as she rushed over from the water fountain
She read it and glanced at lucas
"Riley im-"
"Save it Ranger Rick look" i handed him the balloon with the note
He shoved it back "after all youve been though there still with this?!" He said his voice getting louder
" i know." Maya agreed
For once, Maya didnt look like she was gushing over him.
I was actually a bit confused. I was gone for three days. That doesnt mean nothing happened between them
The bell rung. "Whos our new history teacher?" I asked them both
"Mrs. Kerr" Lucas sighed
"Shes so boring" Maya complained
I sighed "did she explain everything to evreyone in the class?" I asked biting my nails. Which was challenging considering i was holding my binder and about four books.
"Well not completely." Maya offered
"All she said was corey or Mr. Matthews was fired so shell be taking over." Lucas agreed
"Really? She did say he was fired? Wow"
"The word spread pretty quick. So you'll linda have special treatment."
As we got in the class, i sat next to Maya.
"Nothing happend between you two right?" I asked suspiciously.
She shook her head "i wish. We just kinda connected a bit"
"How??" I asked kind of loud
Someone turned but they turned back to quickly so i couldn't see.
"I said i cared about you and i hope your okay and Lucas said and i quote 'Riley is important to me to. I want her to be happy."
I was sort of shocked. I mean ranger rick- the guy who rejected me at a dance said this about me?
