Throughout the dinner, Annie remained quiet, she still couldn't believe her situation. All her life, she tried to never take a tesserae, so she would only ever have her name once in the reaping ball, but in the end, hoping isn't always a solution.

"Annie dear, you are awfully quiet, is something bothering you?" Reyna asked, as she reached over the table to grab the salt.

'Of course something's wrong you idiot, you're sending me to my death!' Annie thought in her head, but would never say out loud, so she just kept it plain and simple

"I'm fine" she eventually said as she finished her dish and pushed it away. She grabbed her long, red hair and swept it over her left shoulder.

"I'm finished" She quietly said as she left the table. She walked through the train all the way to the back where there was a small room with luxury leather seats were she's sat alone, staring out of the train window as the world went past. She could never enjoy this luxury though, being away of her fate. After a while, Ross entered and sat opposite her on the other sofa.

"You okay?" Ross asked her. Ross was the type of person who knew when someone was sad. He had dark brown hair and was just slightly taller than Annie. Being 15, Ross was forced into the finishing business and, like Annie's father, is out on the fishing boats all day.

"I'm fine" Annie replied, as she pulled her knees into her chest. She didn't take her eyes off the back window of the train. They both remained silent, knowing that they will have to kill each other in only a few days.

"Are you scared?" Ross asks. Annie looks at Ross for a moment then her eyes stare back out the window.

"Scared barley covers it" Annie replies.

Their conversation was cut short when Finnick entered the room. He had his top draped over his shoulder and leaned against the door suggestively.

"So, guys, got any questions for me?" He said.

"Questions?" Annie asked.

"Yes, I'm your mentor now, I've been in your situation and if you have anything to ask about the games, I'm your guy" He adds, as he takes a seat next to Ross. Annie sat quiet, she didn't have any questions for Finnick, although she had a ton of questions for president Snow.

Why are you doing this to us?

Do you enjoy seeing us suffer?

And can this cruel game ever come to an end?

"Well?" Finnick asks Annie. She's brought back to reality after day dreaming about home and realises Ross and Finnick were looking at her, waiting for a reply.

"Well what?" She asks. Finnick lets out a small laugh and brushes his hand through his hair.

"I asked, do you think you're ready for this?" He repeats to her.

"Of course I'm not, I don't think anybody is ever ready for this!" Annie snaps.

"He was only asking Annie" Ross comments,

Annie felt fed up, she wanted to be alone so she got up and stormed out of the room.

"Annie! Hey, don't be like that" Finnick says as he attempts to chase after her.

She then reaches her room and the sliding door shuts behind her. Her room was as luxurious as the dining cart. Her bed was a four post bed under a large mirror, it had a chandelier and a navy love seat. She could never feel herself whilst she was on the train though, she was dragged into this new world of luxury and glamor. She just wanted to get to the Capitol and get this whole thing over with. She walked up to her full length mirror next to her window and stared at her reflection. People always told her she looked exactly like her mother, and whenever Annie looked at her reflection, she realised it was true. After a while, Reyna called Annie from her room to come down to the dining cart for supper. She didn't reply, and laid down on her bed, hoping to sleep this whole train journey away.

"Annie! Super is being served!" Reyna called again. Once again, Annie didn't reply. Reyna realised Annie was not hungry and left her alone in her room. Annie tied her hair into a pony tail and tried to sleep, but her surroundings and the sound of the train kept her awake, so she simply rested her eyes until the sun went down, then her eye lids got the better of her, and she drifted to sleep.
