Darkness surrounds me. I wake up with beeping lights and blurry visions. My head pounds and I see the outlines of people in white cloaks and whispering words. One of them touch my forehead and I fade away once more.

I arise once more only in a different scene. White sand is beneath my feet and the smell of sea water comes to my nose. My head no longer hurts and I can see clearly now. There is a figure standing next to me. She looks like me. Her brown hair is put into waves and blue eyes are staring back at me. She is dressed in a powdery white dress with a silver belt aligning her waist. She moves her hand slowly with caution. I do the same. Our fingertips touch and I pull back sharply. She was cold. She pushed her hand farther towards me. Her hand lands on my shoulder and a cold chill runs down my spine.

"Hello." She says a soft silky voice. "My name is Annebeth Syches. I am here to guide you in your choices and help you become accustomed to your decisions." Her hand drifted from my shoulder and onto my hand. I back away from her and I ask, "What decisions? Where am I? I need to go home. I was supposed to be home right after school." She smiles apologetically. "I'm sorry but I can't allow you to leave quite yet. I must ask you to follow me." She turns and floats across the white sand. "No!" I shout out. "I'm not going anywhere with you! I don't know you! Let me go home!" She turns swiftly and her eyes turn a piercing blue. "Follow. Me." I feel her eyes pull me towards her. Making me walk. She turns once more, but this time, I follow.
