She leads me down the sandy beach and into a marble white mansion. The palace was guarded by tall soldiers marked with red lines across their face. They held gold metallic spears against their chest and stared straight ahead as I walked by. The floor glistened in the sunlight. Windows lined the walls letting the warmth leak in the room. I suddenly felt very underdressed. Me in my holy jeans, warn out Chuck Taylors and black sweatshirt, I walking loudly against the marble floors. That's when I noticed it. I was the only one making noise. Annabeth was not making any noise at all, she might as well have been floating. We walk through the marble room and into a completely different scene. This room was dark. With plush maroon carpets and dark grey curtains. There was a bed with silk, black, comforters and a hanging veil. Annebeth flips a light switch and the room turns a dull yellow color. "This is where you will stay until your decision is complete. There are clothes in the closet and you may change. Be ready in a few minutes to meet the Grand Council." I was confused. Before I could ask any of my questions, Annabeth turned and walked out shutting the door behind her. "Okay.." I thought. I walked over to the mahogany door and opened it. The closet was filled to the top with black, navy blue, and maroon flannels. They had dark blue jeans and black tennis shoes in all different sizes. I think to myself, "Umm.. Why am I going to be the only gothic princess here while everyone else looks like Egyptian goddesses?" I pick out a blue flannel and change.

When I looked in the mirror I realized that this room had no windows. "WHERE AM I?!" A sudden burst of anger soared through my body. I stomped over to the door and swung it open. I let it crash against the wall. The guards lining the walls didn't even flinch. I stormed right past them. I heard my footsteps echo off the marble walls and I started running towards the door. "And where do you think you're going?" Annebeth appeared out of nowhere and was standing in front of me. I stopped and whipped my head around. "Home. I want to go home!" I tossed my hair out of my face and I started towards the door again. "ENOUGH!" Annebeth shouted and her voice made the chandeliers shake. I stopped and suddenly became scared. I turned on my heels and felt the anger come back. "Now. You can not go anywhere until you meet the Grand Council." Annebeth said plainly. "GOD DAMN IT NO! I WANT TO LEAVE AND I WANT TO LEAVE NOW!" I yelled at her. She didn't seem surprised by my outburst and calmly moved her hand on my shoulder. Her grip tightened. "You will meet the Grand Council. You will follow their instructions. Then you will decide. Your future is on the line, I suggest you calm your childish whims and listen up." Her eyes were piercing into mine. I took a deep breath and I nodded my head. "Good. Now that you are dressed, we must go." Annebeth took a step back and started walking to the door. "Wait. Go where?" I asked. Without turning around she calmly replies, "To decide your fate."
